3 cups sugar (this recipe also works with 2 cups sugar)
3 sticks butter (I use salted)
3 cups flour
1 cup milk (I use 2%)
6 eggs
3-4 tsp baking powder
1-2 tbsp lemon extract
1-2 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt

Hi Danielle... I’m a 65 year old women who has not baked in over 45 years due to a terrible experience making a pound cake.. Sooo glad to see I'm not the only baker who just flat-out ignores the "do not eat raw batter" message! This is exactly how I make my lemon pound cake that I learned from my.best friends grandma. I use only 1 tbsp of vanilla to the rest of the lemon extract. If I'm making an ultimate lemon pound cake I'll add fresh squeezed lemon juice and sour cream for the extra moisture as well! Bomb!
