How To Make Southern Lemon Pound Cake (From Scratch)

Normally I must have ice cream with my cakes but for some reason when it comes to lemon pound cakes, only fresh whipped cream will do! It’s perfect with it!

This lemon pound cake tastes great right out of the oven and even better the next day!

Here a suggested, put your lemon🍋 simple syrup in a spray bottle then spray it on the cake, that's what I do hope this helps.

I'm making this right now. It is in the oven as we speak. My 6 year old went and got sophisticated on me and asked for a lemon pound cake. Starbucks is to blame because I would get it for him as a treat. The batter tastes amazing and if that is indicative of anything, this is going to be one heck of a cake. This is bad for me as I am on a low carb kick. I might steal a bite or two just to make sure that the kids will like it (excuse to eat it).

Thank you sooo much for this recipe! It was a hit ! I made it in 4 round cake pans for my moms birthday party. I cooked them for 1hour and 10mins and they came out so bomb. I did do a little less lemon juice and buttermilk because I was worried about the weight in the middle rising right cause they were in cake pans. So good!! my mom and her friends loved it❤️

I had a taste for lemon pound cake and made this yesterday. I didn't have any yogurt, so I used lemon pudding (even tho you said not to) and followed the rest of the recipe as listed. The cake is BOMB! So moist and flavorful. My husband at 3 pieces last night. Its already halfway gone. I doubt it will make it through the day today.
