This MAN is easily the best guest you have had yet. An absolute man and patriot in every sense of the word. Thank you sir for your service and may your days be peaceful and calm.

You think wars are dirty now, Vietnam was a science project on our veterans. Horrible conditions. We owe our veterans so much. They paid the price X 10, some the ultimate price.

I was a USN veteran 1971-1975. Watching this video I am humbled/honored to listen to this American Hero. Most American's don't have a clue but this is what military men/women are doing on any given day. I with that I could shake this man's hand. I would give him my best salute. As I watch this I wonder each time I visit my VA hospital/clinic who I am passing in the lobby/halls. There are some truly a number of unappreciated heros there on any given day. I am honored to have served but only to be associated with this type of veteran.

They don't make men like this anymore. Thank you for your service, legend.

The Vietnam war was horrendous. I remember the stories my uncle told of his experience in that war. America should do so much more for the people that have fought and died for this country. As a Navy vet myself, I can tell you all of our veterans and active duty service members deserve our respect for the freedoms that most Americans walk around and take for granted.

2 of my cousins were Vietnam Veterans. I always had the utmost respect for them and all of our Vietnam Vets. That's part of the reason I enlisted into the Army and served 23 years.

My son came back from Afghanistan he was tore up inside but you could never know it cause he kept it inside? Only after he got out of the regular Army & started school did we find out the demons that were tormenting him. He observed a young boy get blown up by a land mine, and watched a village elder wheelbarrowing his torso back to village with the boys buddy behind him holding his legs in each arm. He wrote, “I wish I could sleep at night cause this scenario keeps repeating in my mind…” Only after his college professor discovered this, did we realize that he needed help? I never got this professors name but I owe him my son’s life!

I appreciate that this honorable man lived through that war. The Vietnam veterans are so deserving of telling their experiences. When they came home, the respect they deserved was missing.
I have always been interested in Vietnam and remember reading in the paper, the list of names of the local soldiers who were coming back, 1975.
Never forget

Omg I am a retired massage therapist and one of my clients was a senior vet. He was in Vietnam. Had pure white hair and brightest spooked blue eyes. Like a white wolf. He took fire there, had shrapnel scars on his back, legs, and neck. Scars on his soul as well…anyway-He told me that when he was injured they sent him to a beach hospital, just like the kind from China beach and mash tv shows, to have surgery, heal, and recover. He told me that when his wounds were scabbed over and he could walk around-he got bored wandered around the beach at low tide looking around, and he went into the water. He figured the scabs would soften up in the ocean the salt would then be good for drying em out for picking cause they were itching him. He made it to a sand bar and turned back to see a rubber boat speeding towards him with two dudes yelling and pointing at something behind him. Sharks were coming at him fast and (not sure if he embellished this next part) one even slid across that bar on his belly trying to get him and he jumped over it!😂 you see…the fastest way to get rid of amputated limbs was to throw them to the sharks… so they had begun to associate hands and feet, arms and legs-with food. These sharks coulda became man killers. This reminded me of him… thank you for your service!

My uncle was a door gunner on a Huey in Nam. He’s a Patriots Patriot. Always in some kind of Military apparel, hat and sunglasses…even in doors. I cent remember the last time I’ve seen his eyes. I’ve always handled our conversations by allowing him to steer the conversation where and as far as he wants it to go and I’m just there with little tidbits to let him know I’ve studied Vietnam quite a bit and would love to discuss it with him and should he feel like it, it wouldn’t be a wasted conversation.

I always have to refrain from just hitting him with 21 questions and coming off as pushy or nosey cause I know he has some incredible stories to tell from his missions details.p😊😊😊

The VA needs to conduct interviews with every veteran for our national records. That should be a mandatory 10-15min checklist item before separation or retirement. This country needs to hear these stories.
