I used to be an energy vampire. It stemmed from low self-esteem, a terrible childhood and being in a cult. I finally realized that I could change. I became committed to my healing. It's been several years and I'm doing better. I never had my needs met as a child. I look at healing as a journey, not a destination.
Unfortunately, I frequently attracted narcissists and lately people with avoidant attachment. Thankfully, when I start to feel drained, I try to discuss my concerns and if these are ignored, I move on. Those who are avoidant prioritize themselves. I grew up the oldest, parentified daughter who had to manage everyone's well-being. It's been a learning process.

I work with the worst energy vampire I've ever met. I should not feel completely drained and exhausted after being around someone for only a few hours. I absolutely hate working with this person. It feels like they deliberately try to make the day harder. My other coworkers feel the same about them. Some have even called off just because they were scheduled with this person.

Brilliant video. When you begin to trust your gut feelings and tap into how other people make you feel both during and after an encounter, you will begin to sense energy vampires more quickly. It actually takes time to recover from having been around such people. Avoid and limit your contact with such individuals or organisations.

This is my husband of 20 years. Spiritual in 2020 he hasn’t. I was called crazy to sensitive to emotional cause he has no empathy. It’s like a competition. He is programmed worker 60 to 70 hours a week. Thinks I am the one that is supposed to bring him happiness I told him our happiness comes from inside not my job. Thinks sex is love no empathy. Thankful I found you. You explained it better than anyone. I have watched so many narcissistic videos.

I don't believe in talking a lot when informing folks about overstepping my borders, so this video is an Excellent resource for sharing when folks choose to ignore my Boundaries.

My mom is Exactly all of these things described in this video and I swear, the more I give her, the worse the Underlining ENVY & Mental Abuse gets. Recently informed of
Stage 3 Cancer, she recently in so many words told me to Suck Ut Up And Get Over It ! She also made another Horrific comment to spite me due to having to ban her from my medical appointments So she says to me also recently that, because I did not allow her at my previous Ongology appointment, that Quote .... " I went with my friend Sophia to make her Funeral Arrangements since you would not allow me to come to your appointment " Sophia also has Breast Cancer. This comment was very Demonic .... I'm putting it the Universe that I'm going to get through this and fighting to live, I don't want to talk to especially my mom about any funeral arrangements!

Mind you at almost 60. I have never in my life had a critical illness before, had always spent my life being the Care Provider of others, the audacity for her to NOT show me some Grace and Respect !

I am happy to say that I have NO more tears to cry from her, because currently I am loving her from a distance especially till I am out of Danger zone with cancer !

I will NEVER accept anyone's FAKE Love, if I tell you that I Love you, then I am Spiritually COMMANDED to Respect and care for your Mental Health and Borders, it's that simple !!

My current girlfriend exhibits quite a few of these traits. To be fair I don't think she does it either deliberately or maliciously (I honestly don't believe she has a truly malicious bone in her body), but she has a lot of unaddressed trauma in her past and so she has very poor self-esteem. But our conversations often do leave me feeling drained because they're often about how much her life sucks and how people, her two sons mainly, walk all over her.

I believe my Mothers husband caused her to get dementia. Before she met him things were fine and she met him and he literally suck every ounce of pep she had .Every time I was around him I felt drained and he’d have to have a better story then you and his mouth constantly going.The man is his own worst enemy and everyone else’s. I believe her dementia and demise was because off him and the hospital for not checking her back for bed sores till they were in the third stage eventually leading to the 4th stage and mass general hospital suddenly couldn’t help her and suggested home hospice. I had put three sigils under her mattress to live and she out live all her brothers and sisters and once she was moved off that bed and was taking to a regular hospice she died the next day. I feel I may have caused more pain than good. Love you mom, I hope you are in heaven choirs
