The short answer is yes, my brother did this. He got his BSN, never took the NCLEX and received a scholarship to go to PA school. He's now a PA.

I would say like 20% of the nurses I work with had a BS prior to nursing school and a lot of them even had bio degress. Probabaly half of them would have went PA with the right mentorship. I'm going to give it more time, but im likely going to pick CRNA or PA. What i like about NP is that it is offered part-time almost everywhere. I can make 100k working 24 hours in a week as a RN. I dont feel like i need to rush into a full-time program. I do prefer the medical model though. Time will tell, but options are nice. Not enough nurses consider the PA route that should consider the PA route
