Hi, just wanted to say thanks a lot for this video and your printer build video. I'm a complete beginner to 3D printing, and I have the same printer as you, but the instructions mine came with were completely wrong, so I would have been stuck without your help. But thanks to you, it's happily printing away right next to me as I type this :)

I'd love to see an updated version for a recent version of Cura. The setting and terminology have changed significantly.

can you share your settings with the latest cura version? They changed a lot and I cant find all of your settings in the video.

Brilliant, I used your settings and now I have actually printed something ☺ my problem now is that when I print, I use string ( I think that's what it's called ) instead of grid! and some of the layers has collapsed here and there.

Just a note on filament diameter; In my experience they vary rather more than you'd expect, Ive seen 1.75mm filament measure at 1.62mm and as wide as 1.78mm, in general manufacturers seem to err unwisely on the side of too small rather than too big which is a mistake of poor logic because eg. 0.03mm error 1.78mm/1.75mm v. 1.75mm/1.72mm *isn't* an equal amount of diameter inaccuracy; The calculation used is Pi xR-Squared Cross Sectional AREA of the filament not radius alone, so comparison1 is 2.487/2.404 =1.034, 3.4% too big versus 2.700mm/2.404mm = 1.035 or 3.5% too small for the same 0.02mm - You should not assume that your filament IS 1.75mm but instead use digital calipers to measure it OR be ready to adjust %flow to compensate for over/under extrusion.

The steps per mm are set on the printer itself I assume (thro the LED menu), and the slicer/gcode sends info in mm's.  Think mine are something like X and Y 78, Z 2560.  Then you can do some calibration runs (or manual movement) and measure the actual results.
