IPS or VA? Important information if you’re buying a Smart LED, QLED TV

If you only sit straight on this is less relevant, viewing TV from an angle can make some TV’s almost unwatchable. Get the right TV and the whole room can enjoy great colour and contrast.

VA IPS and PLA compared

OLED is excellent from an angle. QLED varies lower models are reasonable but higher than a Q80R is also excellent.

My stepdad bought a Lg tv a couple years ago and I could never get the black levels right, it was driving me insane. My Vizio from 2014 looks absolutely gorgeous, black levels are deep and the picture pops. I use those calibration discs that come with Disney blurays and I just couldn’t figure out why my Vizio looked so much better. I just now discovered that his LG is an ips screen and those are awful for black levels. I can now sleep at night. Lol

SVA? My first flat panel tv was a 49 in Polaroid tv, it still is a beautiful picture. When side by side my LG, it is still stunning, but the LG is sharper and so much quicker grey to grey, while the black level is lacking greatly. The SVA screen is great but slow, and the IPS is outstanding, but sort of flat when it comes to life.

Ips is nice to have those viewing angles but honestly the backlight bleed and grey blacks in the dark are just not worth it.

What's in the UK Qn90a 50 mate, conflicting, I bought the 50 and told it's not va but I'm blown away with it tbh and don't see any deal 🤷🏻‍♀️

I brought vu tv with va panel and now they had launched tv with ips panel which is just 2000 more than my tv .Do you think ips panel is better than va panel.

I've bought a LED TV Samsung UE43RU7402 UHD and it is indeed VA.


Literally UNWATCHABLE by just a slight angle! Sold it, and I'm getting an IPS which is 150$~ more expensive for a reason.

VA IPS. Deep Black! IPS is horrible in dark rooms. RU8000 /RU 8009 for around 700 65´ is best cheap TV angles are okay and enough for a group in front of the TV. my last IPS was not much better in this.

Ips panels sucks big time. Tv Samsung everything bellow q80t this year sucsk. If you goin to compare panes, compare panels no brands. Others brands have way better TVs than Samsung on low, medium and medium high range.
