This is similar to what happened in NY with Engel. He got comfortable, felt his longevity in the seat would be all he needed, didn't think he needed to put in the work. Well, you snooze you lose. You have to keep your ears in the streets, have people around you that are diverse in race, age, religion, gender, etc. They will keep you up-to-date with what is happening and you better listen well and make sure that you are not sending them false promises. You have to believe in what you are doing and not just say it. This is a time when you will be held accountable. You won't be able to promise something, not deliver, and keep your job.

The most important thing that they said here is record. People start looking at these elected officials records and see if they are working for the people. Don't make people career politicians if they are not fighting for you and your community. I have faith in young people they have more information at there fingertips. So if you'd not working for the people they will call you on it and you will be out of a job.

It was time for him to lose the seat. Hell, he's rarely - if ever, in St. Louis. I'm told the family resides in Maryland. So, if you lay your head in Maryland, why hold a seat in a state you rarely step foot in.

Lacy Clay didn't embrace his father's work ethic and love for community. Heck, Lacy Clay couldn't bothered to fake the funk for the first district's constituents. Bill Clay was accessible and with the people, he was a visible presence within community, held meetings, took care of the first district and the people who put him in office.
The same cannot be said about his son, an entitled slug. I reached out to him many times about several pressing issues and he never returned my call. So, good riddance. The first district's got a real leader in Cori Bush.

The major take away shouldn’t be that these young people are hungry... though we are. The major takeaway should be the nation supports progressive policy and when politicians who unapologetically stand on that are winning. Before, politicians would flip flop from the establishment points to progressive points. Those people lose to full fledged establishment incumbents.
