When I was a teenager, my parents sold our very roomy custom built home at a country club in North Carolina and moved onto a 36’ sail boat down in Fort Lauderdale. The problem was, I WAS STILL LIVING AT HOME. So while my parents got the V Berth up front, I was relegated to the quarter berth which was just below the seat on the right side of the cockpit. Needless to say, I absolutely HATED EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF LIVING ON THAT BOAT. I HAD ZERO ROOM AND EVEN LESS PRIVACY.

For a yacht that’s only 4 foot longer than the boat my parents had, this yacht has nearly twice the interior volume. I have no doubt that my parents could have been far more accommodating to their son than they were, but at that time, I think they were just trying to quit the family life and do their own thing, only they were very premature in doing so. Had they purchased a yacht like this, life would have been much better. This really is the best use of space I’ve ever seen in such a small yacht.

Very nice layout. I thought all Nauticats had side doors!

Gorgeous interior, huge kitchen, nice layout. I’m more interested in power boats, even though I’m subscribed to your channel and watch your shorts, but the interior is completely outstanding. I’ve never seen a sitting table in a stateroom like that. That kitchen!

A pilot house not only adds dimension and interesting levels to a boat that provide privacy when alone time is needed, but also, the protection from the elements and safety in high seas is unbearable. I would always go with this option if the design also minimizes the extra windage the pilot house will create. What’s the keel like to counter it. Hopefully there is less sail area to help reduce windage/

Interior looks nice but would need to know the build quality and wave handling capabilities.

Definitely yes, that's the sickest layout.

Nauticat 40'
Lovely. And in beautiful condition. But I'd be downsizing from our 2011 Amel 54'

Thats the boat of the young virginal couple in YT channel "Teulu Tribe" Their pilot house is a 1987 Colvic Victor ketch

I looked at this Nauticat 40, but I didn't buy it because the lower settee was removed and replaced with an AC-powered fridge and freezer. This modification reduces the seating area, impacts the overall comfort and livability of the boat, and diminishes its functionality.

That's what I'm trying to do currently.

I dream of having a boat like that! I wouldn't mind a bit more of a modern design, but I'd be ecstatic to own a boat that has that timeless classic wooden trim inside. As long as it isn't a tacky cheap feeling design. This one and there's a 50' that's similar and they're both nice. I would absolutely live in this full time. BYE BYE dry land! Realistically, I'd keep her docked somewhere nice that would allow me some parking spots, I'd have a storage space somewhere, and this would absolutely be my home. Get tired of hanging around town, put the car in storage and sail to wherever.

In a Boston minute, which is faster than a New York minute!😊

Best to go for a test sail before any commitment.

Yeah, I sell it all the little something like that, but I wouldn’t even come close to the price. I wish somebody would that was rich set me up with a boat like this. It’s always been my dream to be selling out there in the oceans.
