Mini Cooper R56 keyless start

Here’s a short video of how you can start your Mini Cooper without the key in the ignition. I have a 2008 Mini Cooper R56 but may work with other years. In the video I put the key into the ignition with the door closed, foot on brake and started up the car. Then I turned the car off, took the key out, pressed the brake and start button and car starts up. You can leave the car with it running and also lock the doors with the remote.

You don’t need to start at first point, put the key on then off and push the start button it will work and u won’t need the restart a cold engine twice

May I know after the mini is warmed up and you want to drive it, do you need to put the key back to the slot again? Or you can just drive it and then push the button to stop the engine without the key in the slot? Thank you
