For 34 years, the dinner historical dinner theater experience Medieval Times has followed the same formula- with a King leading the ceremonies. But now, for the first time ever, the show is rolling out a new storyline- one with a Queen at the center. Broadly heads to Lyndhurst, New Jersey, to meet the first Queen of Medieval Times.

Yeah, so to call the Show Queen Isabella - after Isabella of Castille - is very fitting. Queen Isabella was a Queen Regnant - in her own right - who ruled over Castille (Spain) in the Late Middle Ages, while her husband, Ferdinand of Leon, ruled over Leon (Spain). Their union was the "birth" of Spain as a country, which they ruled as equals, partly because - as already stated - the two kingdoms remained separate until the coronation of their grandson Charles, who later became Emperor Charles V of the Holy Roman Empire (proto-Germany).
