Parents treat us like this for almost our ENTIRE LIFE and then when we grow up and move out, they wonder why we don't talk to them anymore.

The worst thing is that this just makes it worse. But you can't cry in front of them either because you're just being dramatic. It's a real stab to the heart and it ruins trust.

(Im female, Im 21 and this happened just a few months ago. I live with my girlfriend)My aunt was like that. She came to stay with us for a couple months while her house was being renovated. I have severe ptsd, adhd, agoraphobia ( fear of people), and anxiety. She kept getting mad that I spent most of my time in my room or the basement ( used as a gaming room). She tried to threaten to take my bedroom door but that got shot down real quick. My girlfriend made it very clear, OUR HOUSE OUR
and told my aunt if she did not start showing me respect and followed our rules she will no longer be welcomed in our home. She also made it very clear that my aunt is lucky we let her stay here in the first place. Aunt tried to fight back and say she is older so we need to respect HER. My amazing girlfriend immediately packed up all my aunts things( had only been here 5 days so everything was still packed for the most part) And threw it all outside in the drive way. Told my aunt to leave and get off our property. Aunt went to grab her stuff and got locked out. Tried to call the cops, but when they got here and got the whole story, they told my aunt that as the home owners we had every right to throw her out like that. They apologized for my aunts behavior and stayed until my aunt left. Bless their souls, those cops were super nice and and my girlfriend always has my back.( even if she does scare me sometimes, in a good way, love strong women)
