That tip about redoing your braids every weeks and not doing it all at once is about to be a game changer for me ! Thank you !

You're right sis, everything you said is just what society has made us to believe. For me I've made peace with the fact that my edges will not always look well laid, neat and all that society expects it to be and so am not bothered at all.

I love & embrace my natural hair and it's uniqueness and so far I've been growing my hair longer than I even though it would grow.
Now I know my hair can grow to any length I desire, I'm going to keep doing what's best for my hair and not what people expect it to be.

Thanks for sharing this, I love the passion you have for natural hair🤗🤗

I’m going to start calling you the hair preacher because you speak the straight up truth about how naturals need to view their hair journey.

I have and I am still working on my mindset towards my hair. I have seen growth when I stop trying to force it to grow or force my hair to be how I want it to be. I need to appreciate my hair for what it is. Great dating analogy.

Your hair is long and beautiful so it will get a lot of attention. If you were selling a hair growth oil, people would buy it because of your hair. I am so happy that the tips you shared are simple and doable and not based on a 'magic potion.' Thank you. My hair is also type 4: 4A and I have been styling my hair mainly in twists and less frequently in wash and gos which I only used leave in conditioners and creams to achieve. I have never used gels and I think that is the reason I have retained length. I usually finger detangle before using a comb. After watching this video, I may consider just finger detangling. I wash my hair every two weeks. I just subscribed because I am enjoying your content.

You got me when you said " twist outs aren't really protective for you cause you still have access to pull and snug at your ends" that is so me, I constantly pull those knots at my ends when I have twists with my own hair, and I suspect it is why my hair ain't growing😭 I need a tutorial on how to braid my hair cause my stylist sometimes doesn't listen to what I tell her, her concern is to have a clean neat job on my head to attract other clients. Also I need a good tutorial on how to take down my protective style.

After a long search on the natural hair streets, finally found a creator that speaks to all my natural hair convictions. Thank you mama👏

I am so grateful to you & for you. I almost gave up on my hair & was going to shave my head bald because of "hard water" damage. But I'm just going to stop using faucet water and begin to follow what you do and also stop using combs or brushes. I'm not going to give up. You are a God send to me. Thank you & you are very appreciated 🙏🏾💯💜💙💚💛

Ive also got my hair in box braids that i redo every 4-6 weeks. Ive retained so much length and its given me the opportunity to try different styles while it’s protected. I moisturize twice a week

Went to get a snack when the video started thinking it was going to be a long intro. Girl, you just jumped right in! Love it. I just recently learned from a cosmetic chemist that the concept of hair at it's weakest when it's wet does not apply to african hair. As we all know, wet or damp hair is much more flexible and manageable than dry hair. Lab Muffin Beauty takes a deep dive with this one but if you think about it you know that's a hair rule that doesn't apply to us. Take a deep dive and make a myth buster video when you find out. That would be a hit for sure! Great video!

That is a good tip to redo your braids after a month. I never thought of that. I leave braids in for 3 months and I worry about the amount of shedding

💖✨ I gave up combs and brushes 3 months ago and the difference is: WOW!!!
I will NEVER use combs or brushes again ✨ Please try it. The results are instantaneous!

Great tips .The no combs is my favourite. The first time I tried no combs, it felt weird but I now love it and it has made me fall in love with my natural hair. Thanks Precious, your tips have been helpful. You have demonstrated the finger detangling elegantly. All the best to you!

I fully agree with all you mentioned in this video. Thank you for the reminder. At times you know the rules and you get slack and lazy after a while. I used combs only wash days or at times when I want to comb my hair out. To make it fully detangled I learned that our hair can never be really fully detangled. Thank you for that. EYEOPENER!! it is true because I experience that as well.

I am going to stop using combs altogether.
I did a 3 months no comb challenge with Coily dairies 2 years ago and my hair looked thicker and got much longer.
Our hair is not for combing I experience that as well. And when removing protective styles Aloe Vera gel fresh from the garden is my best friend with some distilled or spring water.

I know someone who used no comb or brush but only used her fingers to detangle her hair but she has some knots that will probably have to be cut! I think she should go back to the comb.

I absolutely agree, 100%. If we come to the right mindset about our hair, the best way to handle our hair for the best results will certainly follow. I’ve done everything you suggested in this video and girl…I couldn’t be more excited about my hair! These inches are coming through! 👏😂 You’re doing a phenomenal job with these videos! I certainly appreciate you. Looking forward to more! ❤️🌸

These are great tips. I'm good with the edges since I've never slicked them down in the way you mentioned. Smoothing them back with my fingers and tying a scarf on them is the most I've done. Protective styling, well I fail that one. It's a WnG or updo and that's it. Finger combing, I've got that one as well except I do it in the shower on wet hair with conditioner. It's easy because I shampoo every 3 - 4 days so I don't have many tangles.
