My house breaks all these rules, especially nice lighting in the entry ways and the clutter. A nice lamp near the front door is definitely on the list as well as better storage solutions in my living room. I’m a sahm/ mil wife with three kids and the clutter that comes with having kids (one being a baby) really is a full time job.

Besides knocking out an entire wall, how can I make my entryway more open? When I walk into my house, I’m met with a wall with hooks to place our coats as well as a mat to put down our shoes. It has two sets of stairs to the right of us with one leading to your living room and basement and an entryway to our dining/room kitchen to our left.
