I just want to laugh at the face to all the people that actually thought we would get a skin selector because of the leaks, I just knew mihoyo was gonna tie that in with some bundle or something. Remember yall if the rewards seems to good and normal for gacha standards it ain't happening in genshin.

This is as good as it gets post Archon quest in genshin standards. New area, fan favourite 5 star, lantern rite event.


If you find 4.4 disappointing then it only goes down from here until 4.8

In my opinion, this update would've been meh but got downgraded to ass b/c of Dr. Ratio L+ratioing genshin (was hilarious, genshin could never lmao). Was I expecting a free five star in 4.4? No. But that's not the only issue with this patch:

- Xingqiu's skin looks like they just copy-pasted his head on Furina's model
- Shenhe and Ganyu aren't even one of the banners so it's pointless to get their skins if you don't have them (skins look good tho, but that's besides the point)
- Artifact "loadouts" aren't even artifact loadouts but are just another version of artifact sorting THAT'S ALREADY IN THE GAME
- There are two versions of the combat minigame that hoyo does switching between each every patch, so like what Tectone said why aren't they permanent modes

Genshin will never and it sucks b/c the game can be better but refuses to change

Even as a Genshin Player, I can't help but agree for the "Genshin could never" situation. Genshin's livestreams haven't been very exciting ever since 4.0 even the events are completely negligible.

Yeah I think I’m dropping Genshin once and for all this time for HSR and other upcoming gachas. It was a good run but it took me way too long to realize that I was waiting on improvements that were literally never going to come in the first place.

yet again Genshin gets unbelieveably outclassed by HSR, I dunno how they messed up the skin selector so horribly badly; I get that it's some kinda deal with Sony, but c'mon there had to be some way to AT LEAST make it non-exclusive to China

but more realistically, why are they so stingy about giving away free skins? they're not really losing money from it since people will still have to buy the character to use the skin; the only money they'd lose is from double-dipping in whale wallets who already C6 R5'd the characters, and EVEN THEN a skin still costs way less than a C6 R5 character, so it's not like they can make all that much profit from them anyways

I recently finally got over my FOMO for genshin and haven't played in months, and man do I not regret it; the game is so lame outside of quests, it's not even funny anymore, and the fact the devs STILL are so stingy and misguided about player feedback tells me all I need to know about the game; I feel like the genshin devs got unexpected success from the pandemic, but otherwise have no clue how to actually make the game good

Genshin is the perfect game to play for 3 months a year and then never touch it until the next region drops, like fr how to people get content like this after 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 quests and then say ''Yea, it's fine"

It's so true, the lack of content after every new region is happening RIGHT on the dot. No skin selector, and boring ass events

Sure we could get better rewards but this is what we expected in a lantern rite update and this one looks the most exciting yet for me

As much as I enjoyed the 4.4 livestream and the new skins, I personally believe that this was somewhat of a let down considering that many players were expecting more from Hoyoverse, including the supposed free skin selector (which apparently now is exclusively available for Chinese players).
