CAN I GET PREGNANT IF………?

1.I have oral sex?
NO

2.If I masturbate?
NO

3.If I have sex during periods?

NO………or rather maybe very rarely .

Ovulation occurs usually around day 14 of periods in a woman with regular 28 day cycles.

But,the sperm is capable of living in a woman’s body for 3-5 days and if ovulation was unusually early in a cycle,there may be a rare chance of pregnancy.

4.If I use the pull out method?
YES

The withdrawal or pull out method is a very unreliable technique as sometimes spillage of semen can occur before pulling out and even otherwise the pre ejaculate fluid secreted may sometimes rarely contain few sperms.

5.If I am breast feeding?
YES

Breastfeeding may not totally prevent ovulation from happening and so some method of contraception should be followed without fail when breastfeeding

There are many instances when the woman may have got pregnant unknowingly as periods had not started after childbirth (lactational amenorrhoea)and pregnancy was diagnosed after six months only !

We need to normalize such conversations. :) India is a sexually repressed country, especially when it comes to female sexuality, so I'm happy to see this information being put out. Sex ed is taboo in India, so kids grow up confused and don't make informed decisions about their bodies.

Now many of you might think a woman should not get pregnant till she is breast feeding. Many of you might draw LACTATIONAL AMENORRHEA concept here and ask if she is not getting her menstrual cycle back during lactation so how is it possible to get pregnant again?
Well the answer lies The biggest reason is simply not knowing exactly when your menstrual cycle may come back. The amount of time from childbirth to your cycle returning varies widely for every woman, whether breastfeeding or not. Because of this, ovulation can happen unknowingly. And if the released egg is fertilized, a pregnancy could occur. If it’s not fertilized, you can expect your period to make its return to normal.
