Just to say thank you. Your channel is very educative.Since I began watching you on youtube for about a year now, I have converted 2 bikes to electric.A 48V 1500W conversion for myself and 36v 250w my wife. Both battery packs are DIY made at home form disused laptop battery cells.I am now interested in learning aboiut solar energy .Keep the good work, you may not know it but you are helping a lot of people to transform our lives.Kudos to you

Thanks Micah, my Specialized Crossroads bike was converted to an ebike with a 750 Bafang mid drive motor and a 48V 20 ah battery. It has speed up to low 30 mph and good range, over 40 miles. Thanks for providing the info and confidence to do this.

Inspiring video! Used to ride bikes everyday but multiple knee surgeries and current failed knee replacement prevent my riding. Cant bend my knees enough anymore, but may be able to do the electric bike. Thank you!

Rad build! I'm currently putting together my first ebike build. Initially I was using a Next mountain bike, full suspension bike. But I ran into some problems with that, first, the next mountain bike isn't setup for disc brakes and though I thought I could use them anyway, at least on the rear wheels, it was not meant to be, and the heb wheel rim was so narrow, I couldn't use the standard rim brake either. Luckily I had purchased I hardtail mountain bike frame, it's a Triace A310 Stormount and it is made to use disc brakes, so I'm moving my build to that frame. Now speed isn't my main concern, though I am using a 1000W hub motor and a 48V 14ah battery. If your interested I'll let you know how it goes.

I like how when he got "geared up" he wore knee and arm pads and a motorbike helmet but was wearing sandals.

Very interesting thank you. I've seen someone on YT doing well over 60mph with motor bike tires. Don't know how they do those tires. Wind resistance didn't seem a problem. I think they just applied lots of voltage.

I've build 4 1000watt DIY ebike for my personal use before and was able to hit 38mph top speed. I currently have a 72v 5000watt 45ah ebike, I'm now officially a member of the 60mph ebike club.

I think one of the biggest issues that's preventing you from hitting 40MPH are the tires. They're not meant for road and will slow you down significantly. I would recommend going with some smooth road tires. Love your channel BTW. I subscribed.

I built an 96v 10ah Ebike, it’s scary as hell! Goes close to 50mph! I collided with 2 cars riding that fast so be careful when riding at high speed because drivers don’t expect you going that fast.

Thank You so much. I hope to move from my 18 mph scooter to a little faster bike. It is so true about Safety at a higher speeds. 18mph on a scooter in the city or town can still be quick .I'm 68 and I was surprised by the speed on sidewalks. It stuns people! Learning alot!

I built a 48v 1000w ebike powered by a 52v 20ah battery - does 30mph - throttle only. I'm currently building an 1800w fat tire trike - so i took my 52v battery from the bike for the new project and installed a 48v 15ah in it's place. The bike still does 30 mph - throttle only - on the smaller battery. Only difference i've noticed is less range, and a little slower acceleration - and hill climbing.
