Mike's Favorite 'Swampy' Inks! (from 2023)

I picked a whole lot of favorites last year, and not all of them got posted. I love swampy inks, and here are 5-ish of my favorites that I recorded last December-ish. Why did I wait this long? I blame lost footage and life for getting in the way.

Some of these categories are really specific, but that's how my colodex is organized, so that's what we get! These aren't in a particular order, and sometimes there are more than 5. Honorable mentions are always an option!

Rohrer & Klingner "Lilly" is pretty swampy too. It can be brown or green leaning depending on the paper.

Robert Oster Bronze is my favorite swampy ink.

There's a number of fountain pen people in the Philippines that love what we call "lumot" inks. I'm immediately sharing this to them 😁

Stormwater Runoff has been a favorite since introduced. Sailor 280 from Studio Series is great, as is the L-T-B ink from Yiseka. Great color shades.

I've been calling these "baby poop" inks, but I think I'll swap to "swampy" 😂

Sailor Morracan Mint Tea ink also fits in this category.

Yes, I really like Sailor 50 states Georgia.

I was worried till the very end about Sailor Georgia. As someone born in that state, with many relatives still there, that's my first reference, even though as a teahead I get the comparisons for the other inks.

Have you tried Wearingeul's "Zemyna" and "The Autumn Night After A Thousand Years"?

Wearingeul's blue-grays are lovely, too.

Mike, You gave us the answer 😜in "Mike's Favorite Dark Green Inks in 2023": the Green/Black family! Think "near-compliant" dark ink that satisfy office-standards enforcers (oops, you mean that's not black? Shame on me!)

Something akin to the genre proudly represented by Diamine Green/Black? Other ideas (some not black-ish): Sailor Bunbubox Dandyism, Anderillium Kingfisher Green, Sailor Ink Studio #967 #762.

P.W. Akkerman bottles intrigue me so bonus points if you include one of those.
