Greetings gang. Today's video is all about birth control. Specifically: The Copper IUD (or the Copper Coil, is it is more commonly referred to as in the UK).

- My experience getting a copper IUD
- NHS experience getting a copper coil
- What is a copper coil / what is a copper IUD?
- Does getting a copper coil hurt?
- How effective is the copper coil?
- Is getting an IUD painful?
- Non hormonal birth control vs hormonal birth control
- What is insertion process of an IUD like?
- IUD vs The Pill etc
- What are your periods like with a copper IUD?
- Does a copper coil affect my fertility?
- How long does a copper coil last?
- What is the removal process of a copper IUD like?
- Did you experience side effects with a copper IUD?
- Is it worth getting a copper coil?

All these questions, and more! A 10 minute video all about the copper coil. In my opinion, the copper coil is an excellent form of non-hormonal birth control as it is long-lasting and very convenient. Watch on for my personal experience getting the copper coil and would I recommend it?

Thanks for watching!

I recently had the copper coil inserted via the NHS and I wanted to share my experience as I watched 2728822 videos about horror stories and I know everyone are different, but I had such a good experience I still cannot believe it so I wanted to share this to give a different side of the story, and hopefully encourage some other women who are struggling with the pill (I did) to give it a go. 😊

This is so helpful! Seeing all the horror stories from the US and the uk, it’s so nice to hear a realistic version xx

This was so helpful, thank you! I’m booked in to get mine tomorrow. You’ve made me feel much more relaxed 👍 I love medical souvenirs too! I always ask to see my extracted teeth, my placentas & got to keep the pearls they stitched me up with when I had caesareans. 😂 Absolutely agree that everyone should have access to this and have informed choice when it comes to their bodies 🌈 xx

Love you talking about this stuff! I keep wondering whether to switch to the coil. Haven’t decided yet but I will be coming to you when I have questions!

I totally hated my Copper UID. I remembered nonstop bleeding for six months, eventually I had to get it moved.

Thanks for sharing

I think that it's ridiculous that all women are not given the shots when getting this procedure. I guess it's just too much to ask for more money to be spent on women's healthcare, especially when it's stopping us from having babies 🙄

A bit scary for me because I have a really tight opening cervix if that’s the term, it didn’t open enough even when I was giving birth, not even 1 cm, lol. But I’m actually considering this because of the long term benefit. I’m so forgetful even when I have an alarm for my pill time I still forget to take it sometimes. Thanks for sharing your whole experience.

i asked my dr how common it was that a woman's, erm, "partner" can knock these out of place. He said it was extremely rare, but I personally have two friends who had theirs displaced from intercourse. thats not rare enough, lol so I didnt use this

I’ve considered getting one of these several times but I’ve heard so many horror stories of it just hurting for a whole month and then just constant bleeding....I figured I’d just keep on the pill and since I probably need to start having children in the next couple years if I’m gonna do it lol, I guess I might not ever be getting one of these

I'm on the pill but I did consider this for a while. I'm about to get off the pill anyway since we want to start a family soon

Thanks for sharing about this twinnie. It’s incredibly useful! IUD is something that I looked into but I actually couldn’t remember why I didn’t go for it. Maybe I chickened out but I probably needed to talk to the medical staff about it. Really happy to know that NHS is making this procedures accessible as well! Hugs to you!
