I enjoy your expertise, Dr. Lincoln. I removed mine yesterday. It was causing me to lose patience. I need to have patience while raising my kids. Glad that it’s gone. Now I can focus more

I’m that 18%. In my experience, nexplanon works !! Mainly because I’m always freaking bleeding and hardly ever able to do the deed. Thanks nexplanon. Im on my 3rd year and am scheduled to remove/replace in December of this year. My periods started by the year and a half mark. But I’m grateful that it’s keeping me baby free until im ready.

Being a woman sucks! I got inplanom super excited and 3 weeks later I was in the ER with a suicide attempt. I just have to accept that hormonal birth control will always mess with my depression and it will be awful. Thank God I’m married now so my husband will have to have his things cut. This is so much pain 😭

My experience with the nexplanon
I got mine on 6/20/2018
First few weeks was amazing and then I started having lots of issues like massive bleeding fake pregnancy symptoms lots of dizziness mode change more aggressive. I had this for four years recently was when I got it removed. I literally had my period everyday for the next four years I was always sick and practically an emotional mess . Now that I have it removed. I'm feeling better I'm still dealing with side effects but I'm glad to not have that birth control anymore

i’ve had my nexplanon since january. the bleeding seemed normal at first, then the bleeding turned to spotting, the spotting went away for about a week, then came back. i’m now back to full on heavy crampy bleeding which was the whole reason i got the nexplanon in the first place.

Doctors need to point out not only physical symptoms but hormonal and mental as well. I suffered ppd and ppa after insertion and found clarity and relief after I got it removed.

I’ve gained weight. I’ve struggled for almost a year to get it off but have failed. Are there any suggestions as to what to try differently? I don’t eat unhealthily and I know I keep fit.

My experience: I’ve had nexplanon since I was 19, I’m 23 now, has been replaced once. My period stopped completely except for the occasional spotting in stressful situations (e.g. moving to uni, exam week). Had moderate feelings of depression after getting it replaced (however I also had exams I wasn’t ready for so that could’ve been a contributing factor). No noticeable weight gain/loss, steady weight varying between 130-140lbs. No noticeable acne. Can’t feel the implant in my arm.

Thank you so much for this video. I’ve had the nexplanon implant for almost 3 years (June July 2021). Overall, it’s been fantastic ! I
I’ll share my experience. My period stopped for the first 8-10 months, I actually really loved how regular my periods were and I genuinely enjoy menstruation so at first I was bummed. I gained about 10 kg, which sucked but after the second year I lost the extra weight. I also attribute this weight gain to change in diet and lifestyle choices. Huge bummer was that my libido decreased significantly, I also attribute this to a painful breakup. It was strange.
My favorite part was that my PMS symptoms were NON EXISTENT. Gone were the constant mood changes and sudden crying outbursts. No cramps, no bleeding. I’ve gotten back to healthy diet and exercise and sleep like a baby.
However from November 2023 to April 2024 I have had very inconsistent bleeding, cramps and my period is slowly coming back with a light flow and have noticed change in discharge. I’ve been spotting for the last two months and was worried it was caused by implantation bleeding . Haha. I don’t know if I want to try the IUD, I’m scared but the information provided are helping me make a decision. I’ll be going to my local clinic asap and will probably get the implant again. Overall 8/10
Thank you so much ! Subscribed!

Any bleeding I’ve gotten on nexplanon has been super not painful compared to one’s off birth control and I had no bleeding for the first three years I had it but the second time I’ve had some infrequent bleeding that last 3-4 days and cramping is light to not existent so for that I’m thankful. Even then I’ve got other health factors that could be contributing to bleeding I’m having. Thanks for the video, easily understood!

I use the Nexplanon to protect my uterine lining due to having no period due to high prolactin levels & i really enjoy this method!

I’ve had my implant for 3 years now, I’m getting it out this year. And my experience was terrible. I was 150 in the beginning of my journey. I’m now 230. And I’ve gained most of that weight in the beginning. It’s VERY hard for me to lose weight since my appetite has been Off the charts, making me have a bigger appetite then I usually would. my acne has its times where it decided to be rough on me. My period will show for not even a full week and then disappear for MONTHS. I would of gotten it removed earlier if my mother had insurance at the time. I’m absolutely excited to get this out of me. (The only reason why I got the implant was because my mom thinks I’ll be hoeing around which I do not understand why since I’m still a virgin to this day. So I have this stick in me ruining my teen life for no reason :) )

I was just about to get my Nexplanon removed because I felt it had gained weight because of it. But truth be told my diet and exercise regime were not ideal or consistent. I do not want to get pregnant and the natural birth control method is a lot of work and I doubt ill be consistent. I came on youtube to get more information on the natural birth control methods but THANKFULLY I came across your channel. You have saved me from the false narratives and I can have peace of mind using birth control. THANK

I had Nexplanon a few years ago. I had no bleeding for a year, and then continuous light bleeding for 6 months. It sucked! Switched to the pill, and now got off of hormones for the first time in 11 years!

I am on my 3rd round. I do experience some side effects however, the most difficult is weight gain/retention. Every time I get a new one placed, I gain 40-50 pounds. It takes a year or 2 to bring it back down no matter how ridged and strict I am on the weight loss journey. I am looking into other options because it is very hard and trying mentally and emotionally to fluctuate that much, that fast.

First year on nexplanon and I've gained weight. I'm not sure how much but I've gotten plenty of comments about it 🙄. I was a twig before so it's been nice for me in some areas of my body, less in others. My periods stopped altogether too, which rocks because mine used to be very heavy and I had the worst cramping. I'm going to try to get in shape but even if I don't I still prefer my body without the painful heavy periods I used to experience. I've tried the pill and the nuva ring and they effected my mood very negatively and this has not done that to me or if it has its not at all at the level of those other bcs. I'm definitely happiest on this birth control by far and recommend it to folks who've had bad luck with other types like I did.

Nexplanon was a horrible mistake for me. After 6 months or so my hair was falling out in clumps every time I washed it and my face filled up painful with cystic acne on my chin and cheeks. I had random bleeding too but didn’t gain any weight because I was watching what I ate. Gave it a little over a year then decided to get it removed. NOW I get hot flashes with extreme nausea for a couple days leading up to my period and extreme cramping. Then I get it again when my cycle ends. Like for example, my whole day was ruined today because I was too sick and unable to get out of bed to go with my husband and daughter for a family day to the mall and out to dinner. So they went by themselves and I stayed home crying all afternoon looking up what I could possibly do to get rid of all these symptoms that I never once and in my life had before Nexplanon 😢
