With the current state of Microsoft vs. how they were in 2017 I could easily see them being more open to the idea of working with Platinum to re-establish Scalebound.

I was actually kinda saddened when this game got canceled. I got hyped when I saw the trailer. Had lots of potential. And still does. Specially with DMC vibes but with dragons. With both of those. Great combinations. Both of which what Easley drew me. Specially well obviously I love devil may cry. And I do like dragons. Great video man

Platinum Games is directed to the Japanese market, where little attention has been put to graphics, and the games focus on pure gameplay, so to speak. I'm amazed at how good this game looked already in 2013. They really had to transcend themselves to please the West, and they had done an excellent job in this department.

The reason why scalebound was cancelled is because platinum games kept putting off actually developing the game and used the Microsoft money to develop nier automata.

Babylons fall is looking really good in terms of live service games. Platinum has always been the go to developer for crazy fun games though so Im confident that whatever path they choose theyll be successful. You know now that i mention it, capcom, platinum and fromsoft really are the only studious making proper action games focused on melee combat. Makes sense why everyone loves their games

I'm pretty doubtful Scalebound will ever be revived, but I wouldn't say it's impossible. Microsoft has been making a lot of big moves lately, and while I don't think they would ever buy Platinum, they do seem more open and flexible than they used to be when Scalebound was originally in development. I still think it's a pretty slim chance though.

Scalebound as we saw it did look kind of rough, so it wasn't a huge surprise it got cancelled, but I still feel like there's potential in the idea. A good game could come out of that concept, and I think Platinum are capable of making it. A total reboot of the idea might be the best way to go though. Aside from just letting them start fresh, it would mean they wouldn't need to use the Scalebound IP and wouldn't have to rely on Microsoft giving them the okay.

But I really don't like this stuff about them doing more service games in future. It feels like a bad road to go down that is unlikely to be successful for Platinum. Or even if it is, it'll have a bad influence on the studio that will mean far fewer interesting and high quality games from them, if they even make any more at all.

They basically took money and delivered nothing. I'd be hesitant to work with them. Also, forcing Microsoft to possibly have to respond publicly is distasteful. Maybe let them work with another MS studio on it.

Ofcourse we want Scalebound. Name one other game that is like this. Battling with your dragon with such flexibility. There is none.

Uh, aren't they making a live service game for square Enix? Can't remember the name, but the art style is like a painting. However imo it does not look good, as in the gameplay mechanics and elements feel out of place or lackluster idk.
