When does life get easier?
I think that the greatest myth we have, is that spirituality is the journey to an easier life. That somehow or another becoming conscious is our way to living a life in which we will never again know pain or confusion and nothing will go wrong anymore. It's quite the opposite, for a period of time, and I don't know how long. I don't know.

I guess it means this incredible journey of becoming aware of how intimately connected we are to God, that not one thought goes unrecorded. Not one prayer. Not even the people you sit next to is an accident. That we live in this paradoxical universe where everything is that intimate and at the same time that impersonal, both simultaneously. So we look for things to get easier.T hey don't get easier, they get more awesome.

You find yourself every day making these interesting connections. An intimate union with this nonphysical force called God. Where all of a sudden even your own death doesn't scare you. Where you have no sense of ending at all. Where all of a sudden you have this ridiculous high that comes in strange times during the day where you feel connected to everything that's alive on this Earth. It's the most incredible high. And then it evaporates and your feet are back on the ground and life looks ordinary again, but you know it's not.

You no longer have the privilege of seeing anything or anyone as ordinary. Those days are over. Those days are over. All of a sudden you realize, you look at somebody who doesn't know what you know yet. They're desperate and you sit next to them and you say, "You know what, anything is possible. This baby can be healed. A miracle can happen." And they say, "No it can't" - "Oh yes it can. You think linearly, I think holographically." I don't think it's wise to tell them, "Just pray for it and watch what happens."

We are becoming that new generation of life. We have such a contract to each other and to All That Is. It's rocky out there and I think we have some rocky years ahead of us, if not decades. At the same time, I don't think the heavens have ever poured forth such an abundance of people being drafted into divine service as a priority, with all the privilege that entails. You're not ordinary anymore. Don't let that scare you.
