Great breakdown David, I want to remark your point in the the junior developer to needing be able to ask himself “how is his code going to effect the work of others”. Also, the point that one should be able to master his tolls (libraries and framework) because whatever he imports to his code it belongs to him. All these are great advices from a professional such as yourself David, and I think I will take advantage of these advices thanks!

In practice, most senior are guys who are more talkative and plausible

Thx Dave. I don't expect you to but I just wanted to say it would be great if you re-did your soft-skills video without the foul language so I could share it with my CS class of middle school students. As a teacher I have to scan and filter certain questionable practices for the classroom..

Hey Dave, thanks again for the great content. Quick questions: have you ever thought about starting your own company? What do you think would be the biggest reason why not to start one?

Great video! I always had the question if what was the difference and how a person earns that title

Hi Dave I’ve been listening to your videos (I usually download them and listen while I commute:D) for a while and I really appreciate your touching upon lots of niche areas that are very important but don’t get discussed enough. And your honest and insightful opinions are really helpful for me to develop a well-rounded understanding of what tech industry is like as someone fresh to it and wanting to enter it.

A bit about me: I don’t have a programming background and I’m now doing a master in info science. I want to become a software engineer but I just constantly feel there’s a lot to learn and it’s really tough even to find an internship without much experience before (the competition obviously is getting tougher now than a few years ago). Do you have some advice for someone transitioning to software development or do you have any examples like of friends who have been through this? Thanks a lot.
