I have a grandmother in Russia, and with the beginning of the war, my mother (grandmother's daughter) wrote to her that she was sitting in the basement with her children because of the threat of shelling (we lived on the very outskirts of Kiev, we were about 15 minutes before the storm), the sounds of shooting were heard daily, explosions and when my mother wrote to her about it, her reaction was "Ha ha, why are you being bombed there?" and my grandfather suggested that we go to them, saying that the Ukrainian Nazis would kill us here and in general we were freed from "Bandera and Nazis" since then we have not communicated with them, it was February 26th.

Every time I see Ukrainians being interviewed it reminds me that human beings are far stronger than we give them credit for

I live in the Netherlands and in our street nearby we have 7 houses with refugees from Ukraine. Grandma’s, mothers and children. .. There husbands and sons are fighting. My hart is crying for these people. They make the best out of it. It’s verry hard for them. They lost everything. 😢 Some have only a car with clothes, pet etc I realy hope and pray they can go home someday . Europe will help Ukraine tot rebuild. Now they are safe. ❤ Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

It is really sad to watch this video and to see that this shitty war has turned many families into enemies! Greetings and respect from Germany for the brave Ukrainans! Stay strong!

Pavlo, you are asking important questions. I continue to be impressed with the intelligent and clear-headed responses from average Ukranian citizens. In contrast, a lot of Russians who are interviewed on 1420's channel respond so angrily and are so monstrous and they're not the ones whose houses, infrastructure and territory are being bombed and invaded. Your country has much to be proud of. You are worth the world's support and I'm proud to have a portion of my taxes go towards Ukraine's defense. Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇲🇺🇦

Could you imagine calling your relative in Russia and they're like "Why are you bombing yourselves? What's wrong with you?"

I read the biggest part of the comments. I'm touched by the kindness of the foreigners towards Ukraine and Ukrainians. Thank you very, very much for your support! Honestly, reading your comments just melts my heart. Knowing that we, Ukrainians, are not alone in this terrible situation is very important to me. I wish love, peace and freedom to all of you! 💛💙

UPD: thank you so much for your comments! Unfortunately, I can't reply to all of them, because I'm very busy with studies now, but I feel so much gratitude towards you all.

This is so helpful for people like me who are far away from Europe to see how the Ukrainian people are feeling. Thank you 💕

I am amazed that I do not hear any hate in the replies from the Ukrainians, although they have all the reasons to. When seeing similar videos of "Russian on the street" being asked about the war, there are so much hate, and they have absolutely no reason to.

This is sad to see. For the Americans that are pro Russia and never left the USA. This is the same as if the USA invaded Canada and said Canadian people are American because they speak English and our countries were founded in similar times.

I am from Russia, I have no one in Ukraine, but I am completely for Ukrainians, for free people, for democracy. And I apologize for my helplessness in my country.

Another very good video. Your channel (and also _1420_ in Russia) is doing important work, not only enabling people outside of Ukraine to know more about you, but also providing source material for future generations to study ... and to hopefully learn from.
I hope you and Ukrainians in general know that, no matter how stupid our countries' governments act a lot of times, the vast majority of citizens stand with you. We feel sorry for the horrors you have to endure and we hope with all our hearts that you will emerge victorious in the end.
🇺🇦 Слава Україні, героям слава 🇺🇦

What I notice is Ukraine people are very intresting to listen to. They think before talking. Russians, especially older just keep walking, zombielike.
A free Ukraine and Putler 6 feet below is the only option for lasting peace.

Let me tell you a related story. My family is Croatian and in December 1991, while the Serbian forces were heavily bombing many Croatian cities, my father received a call from his Serbian friend who lived in the UK. His friend's atitude was devil may care one and he nonchalantly asked my father: "How is the weather there?" I clearly remeber how my father lost it and said: "Are you frigging kidding me? You are asking me about the weather while your compatriots are bombing Dubrovnik??" His friend's response was "oh really, I didn't know that....". My father hung up the phone and never spoke to that man again. Now, you need to know this man was not some blue collar ignorant uninformed individual or was he living in Serbia, but a wealthy international businessman with connections high up in ex Yugoslav government and yet he played the I-have-no-clue card.

The human cost is just ridiculous. The innocent people that have been caught in the crossfire. It’s awful. I find it fascinating that the people of Russia in this day and age can be so blind to the atrocities against Ukraine. Although there seems to be huge difference of opinion between younger Russians who are against the war and the older generation who are praying for the return of the Soviet Union. I’m from the UK have tried to see things from both perspectives but I just can not see any justification for Russia’s actions. It’s just madness and grandeur. I’m so proud of the Ukrainian for their resilience and standing strong against Russian aggression. I hope the war ends soon. And although I can not afford much, I will support your country to the end. Slava Ukraini!!
