Hey guys! In this video i have shown how to make a photovoltaic solar panel with easily available ingredients.

Buy items here:

Copper Board

Circuit marker pen

Materials used :
1) Copper Clad board / pcb board / copper sided board
2) Etching solution of ferric chloride
3) ZnO or Zinc Oxide paste of 40% concentration
4) Clear Nail polish / epoxy resin
5) Sticker paper A4 size
6) Permanent marker pen any type works
7) Other tools like cuttter, x-acto knife, hair dryer etc.
I have bought the Zinc Oxide from my local dentist shop.
Pcb board from online shop, also Ferric chloride from an electronic shop / hobby store locally.

Which is the N-type material? Which is the P-type material? Where is the PN junction that provides the photovoltaic effect? What provides the electron-hole pairs for current to flow?

I remember some old book mentioning that you can make one more easily by heating a copper sheet and then putting the traces on with "silvering solution"(so probably conductive ink).

You should've drawn those lines freehand... they would've been straighter 😉

It's just amazing ! If both electrodes have the same design, and the substance you put between them is uniform, how could they decide, who is anode and who is cathode ?

Where I live it’s cheaper to buy dollar store solar panels but this is good to know

Total newbie to this stuff, but if the zinc Oxide is a thermoelectric material and the heat from the light is doing more than the light itself, would it make since to use a darker protective coating over the ZO to attract more light wavelengths and therefore more heat?

🤣 Very nice sound when you put on the gloves

why not use copper foil tape ? looks like a lot of work & hazardous material handling & deposure just for copper traces. amazon has copper tape with a sticky backing, just like a masking tape. after that though, i didnt know about the zinc oxide paste. loved the video. thanks for showing us this.

Historically, sticker paper has sometimes been used as etch resist itself. I once got a PCB fabrication kit that came with etch resist stickers for traces and components. Maybe try removing the other part of the sticker paper, pressing the remaining part down really good, and then skipping the marker. If the sticker paper does work well as resist, you'll get much better etching results than with marker. That will save you a step and all of the time spent trying to get the marker lines thick enough _and_ get you a better end result!

The other title for this video is — How to make a PCB board at home
Nicely done by the way 🙌

Solo faltaría hacerlo un poco mas grande para que diera 5 o 6 v y ponerle un controlador que lo estabilice el voltaje para cargar un celular 😎👍

There is no asymmetry in the construction. What defines the positive and negative?

If the board will be bigger, do the electricity produce will be much bigger too?

What nonsense
You just made a rain sensor
It can't generate electricity as it not having p & n type semiconductors

Both sides of the circuit are identical, so how can it develop a voltage in one direction and not the other. Surely there must be a difference in the two halves of the pcb

I have tried and it is not working, can you please explain the physics beneath the process?
