Amplifier power is for speaker load & headroom. The loudspeaker will make the demands on an amplifier- it’s not the other way around! So you’ll be just fine using any quality speaker system that you choose. The damage comes from not enough amplifier power ie current to drive a loudspeaker properly!

EDIT: My apologies. Emotiva more than helped me. An oversight on my part. Emotiva's headquarters are 9 minutes from my home and had me drop off my XPA-7 and repaired it. I missed this post to edit. Keep your warranty papers, whatever you do. Emotiva has a great staff and an old salt of a engineer that is ridiculously good.

So the HC-1 is not differential? I have the XPA DR-2 for music.

If manufacturer backing repairs of their top of the line amps means anything to you then run away from Emotiva, just ask anyone who owns Emotivas former top of the line XPR-1 1, 000 watt momoblocks who cannot even pay Emotiva to repair our amps, after buying Emotivas reference 1, 000 watt XPR-1 Monoblocks as well as Emotivas reference two channel XPR-2 600 wpc amp and finding out 3 years later Emotiva will no longer support repairs of their XPR amplifiers in any way, im all done wasting alot of money on mid fi throw away gear, Emotiva lured me away from Mcintosh Amplifiers for a short period but any future amps will be Mcintosh because unlike Emotiva Mcintosh will happily service every product theyve made since 1947 .

I love the specs of the amp but that speaker sounded like a “soundbox” on YouTube. Might be YouTube might be that speaker..but not impressed

Hi, Great Review. I really like the way you explain in detail. I like to know are these Class AB ? Do they use toroidal transformer ? You should also try to show us inside of amplifier too.
