Love this.. My son, wife and I just got done making a “cat shelter” for the 2 newly strayed cats (both cats were abandoned by drug addicts when they stole an elderly woman’s bank card that they lived with.. she trusted they were “paying her bills”. Turns out they never payed a dime and now those 2 addicts are living in a tent in the woods somewhere with this 73yr old woman. Bank took her house after 2 yrs of the addicts “helping pay the bills”… NO house payments made in that time) she only owes 17k to own her home and 4 acres. Anyway.. these 2 cats are awesome and we already have 2 indoor cats. I rescued 2 bunnies they left behind in a small pet carrier inside a locked camper. They were severely malnourished and thirsty. Love that your doing this!

I think I’ll be amazing people that actually have a heart for animals I’ve got nine ferrules and have to figure out how I’m going to rescue them from the winter thanks for your tips and ideas

I use those heated outdoor pet houses from amazon and have it under my deck. Toozey is a good brand.

I use bricks on my shelters to get them off the ground. This prevents rain or snow from getting in & keeps the shelter warmer. Either way something is definitely better nothing. Great job!

I do the same thing!!!💯🤔 I've been trying to figure a way out to start a cat shelter.. any ideas would be very helpful because there are a lot of strays around here and the winter was pretty rough on them. I'm in East Texas and out in the woods there is pretty unforgiving conditions sometimes for animals that have gotten used to people or being inside.👍🏻😺🥰

PLEASE ALL, use ONLY STRAW, not hay, blankets, mats, rugs, or any other material to line the interior of a shelter. Anything other than STRAW will hold hold moisture and actually freeze a cat to death. Two holes for entrance/escape are essential as well. This one with water dish outside the shelter is good. We don't want anything to wet the interior. Ideally in cold cold areas, putting thr Styrofoam container inside another container such as a plastic storage tub would be ideal. Double the insulation with straw between those two. Kitty will be able to stay warmer and dry. ❤ to all who care for these lives.

You can do better than that! This is terrible! Fix it if you really want to help that cat! Go Google and build better shelter.

Try to fix the entrance instead of keeping him warm it will be like a freezer
