Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist - West Side Story), Tashi's strategy for her husband's redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O'Connor - The Crown) -- his former best friend and Tashi's former boyfriend. She’s the real villain here. She doesn’t care or love any of them, not really. She only cares about them insomuch as they’re useful to her. She views them as tools to be exploited and to live her career vicariously through them. And throughout the entirety of the movie, she shows zero signs of sincere remorse for her actions. She’s lowkey a sociopath, not just in her lack of empathy but in her need to dominate and control all the variables around her constantly.

I love their work here. Zendaya and Faist do great work with their characters here. He needs her to light that fire in him and she cant, she is in her head and cant motivate him. And he pushes for it until she says what she says...

In reality though, it was all about Patrick in the end 😂. Tashi scheduled the New Rochelle match knowing Patrick would be there. Art is infuriated and Patrick, and in turn himself, for knowing that he would never live up to Patrick skill in tennis, and probably other areas of their relationship, in Tashi’s eyes. This is only reaffirmed when Tashi cheats on him a SECOND time with Patrick. Art has always lived in Patrick’s shadow and throughout the years, he thought he escaped it only to find himself right back where he started in competing for Tashi’s love. And Art knows Tashi’s only with him for tennis. It all revolves around Patrick
