I personally love to use RSI. HOWEVER, the most important thing, is to follow the business news. And yes, RSI is good for day trading only. A huge business that is hitting oversold right now, is Apple. The market always overreacts (to earnings ) but it's not very often you see the top businesses hit oversold on the RSI
