We use the relative pronouns to connect clauses together, like "the man *who sold the world* is coming over for dinner." David, KA's Grammar Fellow, explains.

Grammar on Khan Academy: Grammar is the collection of rules and conventions that make languages go. This section is about Standard American English, but there's something here for everyone.

About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

How can I refer to the object and proper noun in the same sentence? For example, "The witch who cast the spell which is powerful is a clever woman.". In Portuguese (BR) we just separate the sentence, "The witch who cast the spell, which is powerful, is a clever woman." - but I didn't see many people using this phrase and I was wondering if it's right.

I was taught in journalism school that you're only supposed to use "who" to refer to people and "that" to refer to objects

This are great materials... I notice something that I like to share, do not take this badly, in the first videos David seems more joyful & funny. Probably because the subject were, let see, less treakier.... I will learn anything, Cristian out!!
