This video exposes the truth about the Uber rental program, cutting through the fluff to reveal that it can be a profitable side hustle if you're willing to put in the work. The creator rented a 2021 Hyundai Elantra for $345 a week plus a refundable $200 security deposit, and after just one weekend of driving, they made $700 in fares and tips, easily covering the rental cost and gas. They emphasize that if they had worked harder on Friday and Saturday, they could have easily made $1000 in a single weekend. While Uber doesn't provide benefits or retirement plans, the video shows that with dedication, it's possible to consistently earn $2000 or more per week driving for Uber, making it a viable full-time or part-time income stream in many markets, not just major cities like LA or NYC. The key takeaway is that the Uber rental program is worth it if you're willing to hustle and put in the hours.

Ive been doing Uber for 6 years. If you are doing Uber part time or as a side gig and you own a vehicle that qualifies than use that. If you are going to do Uber full time then use the rental.

lol reading all the comments reminds me why 98% of people get absolutely no where in life. Negativity all over the place it's honestly sad to see. It all comes down to mindset and putting in work! If you want this to work out, it will and if you go about it thinking it won't, then it won't. That simple. Period

I've done Uber rentals in 2020 and stopped on 2023 to get my own car. This is only for short term use. The contract that you have to renew every week cam change. Meaning prices can go up. In 2020 the weekly rental price were $215 a week and this were before everything went on lock down. So you can be paying $215 one week and the week after from then have a $40 increase. Also in 2020 Uber wasn't taking 60% or more from drivers then. Also the bonuses they gave drivers were way better compared than now.

The driver is also responsible for maintenance on the car, except for any major components of the car such as Engine and Transmission damage. So close to $1, 400 a month in payments, plus gas and maintenance is designed to keep driver on the road constantly.

345 X 52 = 17, 940. This is the amount to keep the car for a year. Their is no convincing debate of a car depreciating this loss of value plus maintenance happening in one year. Use the car only fix your financial situation. Build your credit, save for a down payment or just out right purchase your own car and stop renting.

People got to remember each market is a lot different. Just try it for like 2 weeks and you make the better judgment.

I have used both Uber and Lyft rental programs; It's not worth it. After making the $350 payment towards the cost of the rental, you still have to take into consideration fuel cost which is around $40/day (depending on the cost of gasoline in your area). To fully benefit from the rental programs, you will have to drive at least 60+ hours/week. If you do this program, you are going to be frustrated and tired.

I did this while I was between jobs and job hunting for another position. All of my time started going towards driving instead of job hunting. This was one of the stupidest financial decisions I ever made.

Great video!! My personal Uber car was total by my brother. At the WRONG TIME!!! So my best bet us rental. Retired truck driver, 36+ years of experience. My arthritis says do it smaller so rental here I come. I've dealt with UberEats since 2019(with my red Corvette) and then trade to my now 'total car' for rideshare and more money. But, no Tesla for now. I'll be watching your channel.👍👍

Nice content. Thank you for your review . I am about to going to do the same. If you consider the car depreciation, tires, engine, and all maintenance, doesn't worth it using your own car. Plus you don't have to pay for insurance .

I love how simply you layout this information. That's all I've been looking for in these videos.

2000 a week was before covid! Now maybe 1500 working 80/hrs or more a week.

Consider yourself lucky as in other markets you'll need to work 60-70 hrs to hit $1000

People have to realize that driving full time is very stressful. Do this only part time trust me. If you want to know the full breakdown of my rental plus gas and insurance, ask

Is $345 a week for rental?
So you must earn at least $1380 per month to cover the rental? Is that correct??

Seems like it’s worth it if you max out the 12 hour daily limit then do doordash after

I currently don’t have a car and I’m thinking about doing this. I have a full time job so it’s difficult not having a car. So I’m looking to do the rental program so I can do the Uber on the side and also have the car for free (not really free) I feel the trade off is good up until I get on my feet and I don’t need a part time anymore
