Michael Richards' biggest problem is that he's not a stand-up comedian. He is a comedic actor. They're two completely different skill sets. He just wasn't very funny at the comedy club, but give him a character to play and he's hysterical.

As a black man and a fan of "Seinfeld"and the Kramer character, I was heartbroken when I saw that infamous video. I was never really angry but shocked. He went in too deep with the racism. Because of that incident we missed out on many movies and or tv shows that he could've been in. I do forgive him and wish him a successful comeback.

The fact that this lady thought the "N" word isn't used anymore in comedy clubs, and those days are over is MINDBLOWING

Imagine Behar claiming the N-word isn't used by "anybody" in comedy clubs anymore. Talk about out of touch. Wow.

He said it himself, he canceled himself. He could have come back from that a long time ago, but just like he also said on Comedians In Cars Drinking Coffee... he has been taking the time to better himself... his has been the best stories of a person who takes ownership. Beautiful person.

The real tragedy for this poor guy is he can never make a public appearance without having to explain the comedy club incident over and over again and again. He screwed up, he apologized but he is sentenced to never being allowed to forget about it.

Never seen anyone from The View forgive anyone before.

It’s been 18 yrs, this shouldn’t have to haunt him. People have forgiven celebrities who have done waaay worse than what Richard’s did.
I’m interested in reading his book.

He was crying at the end when he thanked Whoopi. As a black woman, I paused to watch the rant because I had never seen it. It was awful. Just terrible. But I would be lying if I said I can’t see the deep remorse in this man’s eyes.

The poor man should be allowed to stop beating himself up.

He is a better man and next time, we don‘t need to hear about that old incident again 😉

I still to this day don’t think Kramer is racist. He got his feelings hurt and he resorted to saying the most hurtful thing he could think of. We have all been there said things we didn’t mean out of anger, even to loved ones.

I believe him, 18 years is enough, give him a second chance America!

Whoopi said it right - everyone steps in it one time or another. Should we all be cancelled forever? I don’t think so. He apologized and self-reflected. It happened one time unlike Trump who says something racist, homophobic, antisemetic and xenophobic on a daily basis. I forgive Michael Richards and wish him success.

This has to be one of the best interviews given on The View. It's honest, truthful, kind, and loaded with vulnerability.

Whoopie was very gracious to bring him back into the fold of entertainers.

No one should be judged solely by their worst day, moment, speech. He's apologized and I think he's tried/ing to be a better person.

My heart broke listening to him talk, knowing none of us are perfect and that he was SO HUMBLED by his error in judgement.
WELCOME BACK MICHAEL RICHARDS!!

Anyone else think Richards would be a really good Joker?

Self Reflection is Extremely Important. He seems genuinely sorry for what he did. He is aware of the rage inside and working on it.
