The Expanse - Rocinante attacks an UNN frigate

The Roci's crew decides to save the Razorback which is pursued by an UNN frigate. Meanwhile, Amos and Prax are in a little predicament.

This is quite possibly my favorite hail Mary in all of scifi. The way the missiles peel off to join the others, nobody expecting the Roci to scream past the camera ass first, the perfect, non gratuitous slowmo... it's perfect.
Oh and also immediately after the hail Mary - "we're actually still fucked". Makes it even better.

This battle is so amazing, The expanse space battles are short, but they are so more enjoyable than most if not all the others sfy space combats

For me - this is THE single most astonishing piece of close range space combat tactics I've ever seen. On top of the strategic brilliance of Rosie's crew, the depiction makes me hold my breath, especially the slo-mo turn out of the explosion cloud, attack and subsequent view leaving the frigate (Leonidas Class Battleships - you're certainly right my fellow geeks) far off, with separated engines. Even the shielding panel on the engines lit up when it was hit. ABSOLUTELY MINDBOGGLING PIECE OF FILMOGRAPHY
OTHER SCI-FIS LOOK LIKE CARTOONS IN COMPARISON.

I love how when the music kicks in at 1:36 you really get the sense that the crew of the Roci just played their final card in the battle, and all that's left to do is watch how it pans out.

In the book it was a frigate. In the show it’s a Leonidas-class battleship. Named by Daniel of Spacedock. There was a ship named Xerxes in the books, but this one is so much unlike it so he decided to give it the name opposite of Xerxes, which is Leonidas

This scene was on of the best changes made from the books as the circumstances that brought Avasarala and Bobbie to the Racinante in the books was a lot more mundane.

This manouvre was so beautifully ochestrated visually. And i also liked the Amos bit as well while Arvasarela is stroking out. I was quite tense watching it unfold, will Amos save the botanist? Will those tools injure someone? Will Arvasarela stroke out before its over? How will Holden beat a more armed bigger ship with limited armament?
