I tore a ligament in my ankle a couple days before everything got shut down in March 2020. I didn’t really go back to the doctor after they said they couldn’t do surgery on it because it had been two months by the time I went in. This explains why it still hurts on occasion, it hasn’t been right since.

Fantastic explanation! I have watched 15 videos on ankle sprains and this is the first time I learned about the ligaments and why they take a while to heal, it's because they don't have a direct supply of blood thru arteries and veins. Thank you! 😊

That is such good information! Thank you. I never knew that. My mom once ripped her ligaments in her foot. Orthopedists immediately told her not to move her knee, and it took a long time in a boot-cast, months and months! And the pain, man, the pain was up there!

No wonder my ankle still hurts from a sprain 6 years ago!

That makes so much sense. Thanks, I have learned so much from you. Not that I would ever be a doctor, but I always say what will it hurt? Talking about learning as much as I can, about anything and everything. You will never know if you will ever need it. That also goes for getting to know different ppl. I like hearing about diff. Ppls Opinions and a diff way of looking at something. Being open minded has taught me so much. Doesn’t mean I will always agree with them it’s just interesting seeing it from a diff viewpoint. Especially because who’s to say you’re right and there’re wrong.

Maybe why it feels better after walking a while but worse after sleeping

I mildly sprained my ankle last year, and didn't seek medical help or advice -- I will not make that mistake again. If it ever happens again, I'll stay off it as long as possible.

Well thank you! I always wondered about that. That makes total sense. I love it when you answer a question I didn't realize I had! 🤗

That explains why it took so long for my ankle to heal. On top of that, I got pregnant 2 months after the sprain and my ankle was sore throughout my entire pregnancy and afterwards. That was almost 20 years ago. I know I have arthritis in that ankle now.

Thanks for the information! I have peroneal tendonitis from multiple bad sprains, and I'd be better off now if I'd let them heal properly!

That makes sense but man I’m 3years in after spraining it during football and the pain from walking or standing too long honestly bothers me. Though it could be something more obviously and I’m not sure because I really don’t have the money for a doctor and neither does my family so going would really be something serious to us.

Thank you! Just wrecked my ankle and this answered my question 💜

I've had ankle problems for many years. I wonder why most doctors have talked about having a lengthy ankle ligament reconstruction to tighten ligaments instead of a quicker clean out surgery if the fluid is what is causing the pain.

I'm 2 years post ankle surgery, and I'm still in therapy. Still limping 😢
