Damn man, your studio or office space looks amazing! Really enjoyed this side by side comparison of the cameras, and your insight on the two of them. Always great to hear from someone that has actually used the cameras in different setups, and bring some real world experience to the mix!

Great review. I've gotten tons of value out of this video and immediately subscribed. Great job 👍.

At first I was skeptical to the Osmo because of the significant price difference compared to the Hero 8. Like, surely the extra money would buy you a better camera, combined with the fact that GoPro has been in the action camera game for a long time. Well, you convinced me that's not the case. I'm totally going with the DJI Osmo Action. Thanks so much!

PS. I love your style. Casual, factual and very pleasant all around. Subbed!

Hi Jake, Great video. I so agree with gong with the DJI Osmo Action camera. It really takes great video, and so does the Osmo Pocket, but this is a different type of camera.

I sold my Gopro and I doubt I'll be going back. There's is very little more frustrating than having your camera lock up when you need it the most, my Gopro failed more times than it didn't. Glad to see your unbiased, unpaid and super honest review of these two cameras.

Great review thanks! I'm so torn right now, looking to get our first action camera for our channel and so many conflicting opinions on the hero 8 and osmo action. I also have a feeling the next gen of action cameras are going to blow these away so maybe it makes more sense to just wait?

Thanks for sharing your experiences and your honest opinions. Planning to buy action camera more on for vlogging. Still not decided what to buy.

What a great video, as always. You and I are definitely singing from the same songbook on this one. My GoPro hero five was super stable but I didn’t like the performance of it. Then the 6, 7 and eight are ridiculous nothing but bugs constantly. You can do firmware updates until you’re blue in the face LOL. The DJI Osmo action is so solid it gives me so much confidence when I use it out in the field.. and even though my vlogs suck pretty bad I’ve done quite a few of them using the Osmo and the usability is incredible

Without a more discriptive review on lowlight conditions, I'm sticking with my GoPro Hero 4 Black for indoors under fluorescent lighting. .

I use my GoPro Hero 7 for outdoor recording, mostly, and it does well, zero freeses and SD card errors.

Great video! With current firmware, the Osmo Action is looking pretty nice. Using it for extra footage or even an ultra mobile vlogging setup is looking appealing.

As owner of both, I agree with several of your points. I'm no professional when it comes to this stuff, I just enjoy learning and playing around with the settings.

Thank you! One thing is there is a plug-in for Davinci and Premier that will allow you to edit spherical video on the Insta 360 R.

Great video! I have a H7 and just ordered a Action. One reason is a Have the Mavic Pro drone and hoping I can get the color profiles to match better out of the camera. Shooting the MP in D cinelike and H7 in flat it still doesn't match great when going from going from one shot to the next. My question for those who have the action is there settings that you can adjust sharpness, contrast, and saturation like on the drones? That way I can have the two camera perfectly match. Thanks

Great review...i was going to purchase a GoPro but this has made me change my mind... paying more for a product that does less doesn't make sense

Totally agree!
The Action is so good, I sometimes use it as my main camera. 👍

Despite owning a GoPro Hero 7 Black, just like you, I'm glad to see someone who isn't sworn to praising one single company or product. I, myself, have had a few problems with the GP H7B freezing up, but not due to the SD card; it was related to the options that were turned on, and were consuming processor power, such as the voice commands options, the GPS, etc. I have found that, with those turned off, the GP behaves much better. If DJI would come up with an FOV to rival SuperView, I'd ditch the GoPro in a pinch. Till then, I'm stuck with it, since DJI's Wide, combined with RockSteady, simply doesn't cut it for my needs. Otherwise, I like the DJI Osmo Action better in every other aspect. Good video, I'm subscribing.
