This is my updated comparison review of the GoPro HERO 9 Black vs DJI Osmo Action! I have 2 years of use with my osmo now. I do like the hero 10.

As a Hero 9 owner I am severely disappointed with my purchase. Some times the camera will not connect to the app no matter what I do, frequently the footage will show a vertical line splitting the video right in the middle with diferent exposures for each. For 3 times now now I left the camera to charge overnight and when I picked it up to use it, it didn't charge. Wth Gopro, this is your 9th iteration of a camera, this is unacceptable.

DJI Action never failed me. It's always recording. No freezes like GoPro 9. And DJI has amazing HDR option. Don't get fooled by marketing bs. Get DJI Action. Or even 2 Osmo Action.

I received an Osmos as part-of-payment for a shoot I had done last fall. I was super giddy as that was the action cam I'd been looking at. We had a family vacation to HI coming up and I was excited to run it through its paces. I kitted it out with the ND filters I would be using, and we headed out a couple weeks later.

On the 2nd trip out to snorkel, it died...

Had I not used it on that trip while snorkeling, I probably would still be in love with it, but the whole experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. Even though they promote it as waterproof, in the fine print it states that it is water-resistant. If I had purchased a housing I would have been fine.

Last week I picked up a Hero9 with a 64GB card, an extra battery, and 1yr of unlimited cloud storage for under $375 directly off their site.
I do not like their software, but that doesn't bug me because I edit in Premiere Pro.

So if you're gonna get it wet, wrap it UP!

I personally don't think that the new Gopro had anything really new to offer. I'll stick with my Hero 7 or go for the low cost Osmo Action, thank you very much.

I'm just waiting for the Action 2 pack that includes the magnetic protective case, but soon I'll have to say goodbye to my handy Osmo Action! It was a good 2 years it's time to upgrade now!

Great testing Ben. It's eye opening that the two year old Osmo action still holds up so well against the latest and greatest from GoPro. But than again the even older Hero 7 holds up well against both of them. Nice review.

Dude I sold my action A while ago for the GoPro nine. Now you are making me regret my decision. Maybe I should sell the nine now while it’s at top dollar. Geez

I’m a fan of the gopro vídeo quality, but I sold my gopro hero 9 and kept my old Dji Osmo Action just because it never let me down, nor tilt or frozen issues at all. The osmo does a great job 👍🏻 as an action camera. Looking forward for the release of the osmo Action 2! Cheers AutheTech! Great vs video BTW

I've had the Osmo for about 2 years and I have been VERY pleased, especially since the last firmware update. The last GoPro I had was very buggy and froze all the time. GoPro has more bells and whistles, but I will stick with the Osmo.

Reliability is still with Osmo... Been using it and i love the new firmware update. The video color quality has improved a lot...
