Recent surveys showed 10% of uk actually really care about coronation, vast majority either not caring or against. Especially with estimated cost of £250m for this 'slimmed down' version. Royal family isn't relevant to many of us, we have far more immediate and more impactful things to concern us.

The polling here in Scotland is very interesting. 70+% of 16 to 24 year olds support Scottish independence and, as is mentioned in the video, 60% of that age group do not support the monarchy. Support for independence is in the majority in every age group, except the over 65’s but that is narrowing, and is highest among young voters. Since the last referendum on Scottish independence in 2014 there are a million new voters eligible. In other words, just like America, the young are at the vanguard of change in Scotland and an independent Scottish republic can be spotted not far off in the distance. What a party we’ll have that day!

My family expressed its opinion of the British monarchy near a town called Concord back on 19 April 1775 and that opinion hasn't changed since. I can only imagine how much more intense the Irish and Scots feelings are, and rightly so.
