In this video we are addressing the biggest mistakes bowhunters make when they are testing arrow flight. Getting proper arrow flight is absolutely crucial when it comes to the moment of truth. You want to make sure you are consistent, and accurate no matter what.

We see bowhunters consistently making the same mistakes over and over when testing arrow flight.

The first mistake bowhunters are making is not having consistency in your arrows. Now, most hunters today are at least shooting the same kind of arrow, but is that batch consistent? That's up to you to test. Make sure they spin correctly, make sure the weight is consistent, if you're shooting lighted nocks on one, make sure they're all equipped with lighted nocks. Any slight change can throw off your arrow flight, especially at long distance.

The second mistake we see bowhunters make is not testing your hunting setup. Its not often you will get the same results from your target setup as you would your hunting setup. We're talking testing arrow flight for hunting in this scenario. We always recommend practicing with the broadhead you intend to hunt with. That will give you the most accurate results when comparing arrow flight.

The next mistake we see is not practicing at various distances. Dialing in at 20 and 30 yards is pretty common. But in a lot of hunting scenarios you can't be sure that animal will be at 20, or 30 yards. You may have to take a 5 yard shot, or a 45 yard shot. Practicing at those distances, making sure your arrow flight is consistent at those ranges will not only boost your confidence, but will definitely aid in bringing home the game you are pursuing.

And the last thing we want to touch on is you, the archer. You have to consider what you are doing. Anchor point, release, grip position, your peep sight, all of these things need to be consistent in order to get the best performance out of your arrows.

Practicing from elevation is critical! More for shooting form than arrows but it’s still key!!

Knowing your anchors too! Got to have that shot sequence down.

Great tips!

Great Stuff! I always use 1 broadhead out of the batch as a practice head. I'll shoot from 10 to 60 yards to make sure I'm good to go!

Solid tips! Way to go. Heavier clothing will create some challenges...def need practice anticipating that part of your season.

You grab the bow at the shot. This can lead to torque.
