This song is surprisingly deep. It’s the best critique of American democracy building abroad I’ve heard so far. Especially the line “freedom is calling to all men who bend their will.” It’s so nonsensical and yet that’s exactly what happened irl. 😂

criminally underrated, which somehow makes the song more poetic. A soldier fighting for a cause he will never truly understand, devoting everything he has to it only to be forgotten entirely. Obviously the song hasn't been forgotten entirely but by comparison to the other songs it is greatly overshadowed, which just isn't right. I could write an entire thesis about this song, the character of Khamsin and how profound the message is; the irony of a dog and a man fighting eachother for the same ideology, two sides of the same coin, both puppets to a greater course. Fantastic work.

I know this song is meant to be a critique of this kind of attitude, but I can’t help but feel like the line “We fight for justice, in a forgotten place, fulfill our duty, then vanish without a trace, ” is vaguely inspiring. It’s like the motto of a professional soldier who truly believes in what they’re doing.
