The Hot Wind Blowing (OST Mix)

Do you truly understand what you're fighting for? How can you hope to accomplish your goal otherwise?

Oh man, another one of these?! Yeah, as I said in yesterday's upload, I haven't had much time to do anything lately thanks to all the requirements for school in the fall. I have an idea of what to do from here on out, but we'll save that for an update video, 'cause it's long-winded and I don't think it's worth typing here.

As for the song itself, I decided to make this one very, very simple for a reason: the song isn't on the OST, at least not in full form. The instrumental's there, and the Platinum Mix is also around YouTube, but there isn't a song that combines the two together on the OST. There might be one somewhere on YouTube; I didn't do much searching. Either way, it's a mash-up of the instrumental and vocal versions of the song, and it sounded all right, so here it is.

That said, this is probably my last mix for MGRR. The rest of the songs that I might want to mix are on YouTube in a form that I'd consider to be sufficient at representing the fights they accompany, so I don't think there's any need to mix them.

"The Hot Wind Blowing" was composed by Jamie Christopherson and Ferry Corsten, as a part of the OST for "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance". I claim no ownership of the original works (the vocal nor the instrumental versions), but I do claim responsibility for creating this mix to better represent the boss battle that it accompanies.

Hope you enjoyed the mix!

Khamsin needed to realize that Bladewolf desired freedom more than anyone else. Bladewolf knew what freedom meant, but he'd never known how it felt.

I always appreciated what the lyrics represented in this theme. It describes how a soldier's life is simple, but never easy and very grim. They go in, fulfill their duty, then vanish. Usually leaving with blood on their hands, which makes them question whether or not they truly deserve a medal for it.

Wild how bladewolf's dlc goes in so hard on the stealth gameplay that you actually have tiny bite-sized stealth moments in this boss fight.

I got lucky the first time I fought Khamsin, the finale of the in-game version cut in perfectly after "Destruction". My god this boss fight as easy, but satisfying as hell.

To quote an excellent mashup

I feel like Mistral had Blade wolf dispose of Khamsin given the fact that she would have almost no chance at trying to fight him. Considering that her whip/stick is short range, and is not high frequency. Also the fact that Khamsin would literally obliterate her with that giant axe speaks for itself

Edit: grammar

I think my favorite part is right before "Heat of the desert" with the electronic distortion and then the drums. Fokking briliant

The hot wind blowing
Jagged lines across the sand
The crumbling buildings
In our minds are all that stand

Just like the buffalo
Blindly following the heard
We try to justify
All the things that have occurred

I don't know what I've been told
But the wishes of the people can't be controlled
I don't know what I've been told
But the wishes of the people can't be controlled

Heat of the desert
Dust settles on my face
Without a compass
The soldier knows no disgrace
Out of the ashes
The eagle rises still
Freedom is calling
To all men who bend their will

Here I am
Dirty and faceless
Waiting to head your instruction

On my own
Invisible warrior
I am a wind of destruction

(All men who bend their will)

We fight for justice
In a forgotten place
Fulfill our duty
Then vanish without a trace

Don't need a medal
For all the men we kill
Freedom is calling'
To all men who bend their will

Wind of destruction!

Banger theme, and he’s also a lit character.
And he’s probably the Wind of Destruction I feel the most bad about, he was just a soldier that went too overboard with his orders.
