IGN's Nintendo show reads off YOUR Nintendo Codename NX predictions and discusses Amazon and amiibo, Splatoon, and E3. A few episodes ago special guest Ryan Payton suggested we try to predict what Nintendo will try to do with its next dedicated gaming platform. We asked you to describe the hardware spec, the controller, and discuss three unique features to the system. Tune in to hear what the community came up with.

NX a portable device (perhaps tablet sized to complement move to handheld using mobile) device that plugs into a station to attach it to a TV, similar in concept to the Razer Edge tablet. Thus merging Nintendo's handheld and home console divisions before they enter the mobile market.

I think the NX will have backwards compatibility with the Wii U but the only way to play Wii U games on NX would be to have a GamePad so maybe you can buy a GamePad in store or you can play Wii U games with other compatible controllers.

I really hope NX has no backwards compatibility. I say this because that would mean Wii U's  powerpc tech and the Gamepad would be a must on NX and I think those 2 things were not great for Wii U. Powerpc = no 3rd party, plus NX should be a beginning. You cannot do x86 tech and BC, this is for you Jose!

NX: New X. X is a placeholder for the Wii U's successor, the next generation's cheap casual console. The NX is the "new" i.e. more powerful version of that. 99% of Nintendo's first party games will be developed to run on the weaker version just like almost all 3DS games run on old 3DSs but the "new" version has the specs to run bigger things if need be. The X will cost 200-250$ and will be perfect for those content with just Nintendo games, the NX will cost 450-500$ and will be perfect for those who want both Nintendo and 3rd party games.
That is why the NX won't replace the Wii U or the 3DS, they will each have their own successors while the NX will compete directly with the other consoles.

Hate me for it, but I just want something like the GameCube again. A cheaper console that is somewhat competitive still with the other 2 systems in terms of power, a Fantastic, traditional controller (give me analog triggers!), and 3rd party games! Please!

PStv/PS Vita will be the model, with power just a little higher than the WiiU, but not as high as PS4

After playing a ton of Splatoon it doesn't feel like a rip-off of anything. Would be nice if Ranked Battle was Turf War instead of Splat Zones though...
