People frequently ask me how you know when a rack of bananas is ready to harvest, so I made this video. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. I do have Truly Tiny bananas for sale.

This is epic I have the same bananas and it felt like they were on the tree forever so now when they looked that way I cut them down currently sitting on my kitchen table waiting to ripen. Thank you so much for the info.

Hey Randy, I have an Ice Cream banana palm in central FL. First crop of about 20 to 30 bananas. I cut one off a few weeks ago and it turned black instead of yellow. So I guess I picked it to soon. I was told this was a Blue banana tree. They have filled out more since then and the leaves are starting to die. Should I pick one more and see what happens?
We also had a small crop of the lady finger bananas are few years ago and they were best bananas I've ever tasted but the new trees haven't produced since. Thanks.

I have a banana tree in my back yard. The bananas are ready to cut down. They are smaller than the store ones but not as small as the ones in the beginning of your video. After I cut them down will they turn yellow like the store ones? If not how do I tell when they are ready to be eaten? Thanks!

in your experience what's the difference in sugar level when you harvest the fruit green like that vs wait and get them ripe from the tree, the difference in mango is huge.

Good morning! Do you keep them inside on counter to ripen? Is it better to leave out on porch? Spiders & ants is what's making me rhino not to bring them in.

That's some awesome bananas. I don't grow bananas because my family grows them and we trade our fruits. I do have plantain . Great video and very educational. Loved and Subbed.

I have some in my yard. I harvested some weeks ago but it never turned yellow. It’s been weeks should I pick them again? How long will it take to turn yellow?

How do I know if my banana tree is an ice cream banana or the other type? Is the ice cream tree typically taller? My tree is only about 6 feet tall

My bananas are like your second grouping I really wanted to know when I could cut these things off but I think I'm going to try as hard as I could to let it stay on as long as I can cuz I want to see how big they can get

however the end of the bunch doing the flowering is getting black what do I do now?

Did you say they grow to waist height? If so is it unusual that the ones growing in my yard are taller than my house?
