Here’s my secret hack for the FabFilter Pro L2 🤫

This gets your tracks super loud and super clean 👌🏻

Always use 32X on the sampling

If you can’t do it live, then turn it on when you bounce or bounce out of the box

I do that on EVERY plug that supports oversampling, it takes me like 10 min the bounce but it's worth it lol

Whit this you will not have aliasing in your life BUT you will have muuuch IMD (intermodulated distorsion) and you need to put a linear phase filter around your nyquist frescuency after the pro l2❤❤❤

in theory its always better to oversample, But I now trust my ear more when making decisions. I'd mix into 32x then before bounce i'd turn it off to A/B the difference see which one i like more. it does something with the transient and introduces IMD, its a trade off for aliasing. i dont generally worry bout aliasing unless im smashing the gain reduction.

Not advisable to engage oversampling if you can't play back in real time. Oversampling changes the behavior of the limiter, this can add unwanted GR. Stick to 16x if your processor can't handle it

The last time I tried it, my computer didn’t like going to 32X so I am at 16 X

I use an analog mix bus with SSL and Manley, and then the pro L2 as the last plug-in and my computer won’t work at 32X
Works perfect at 16 X

Why? I can get songs loud and clear to -6 lufs without even mastering and don’t need oversampling. And doesn’t the true peak limiting internally oversample in order to anticipate the TP anyway? Seems like a waste of CPU. What’s the advantage? I could see how maybe this would be a good idea if you were doing a very heavy amount of limiting, but I’m never doing more than maybe a DB at once with the final limiter
