i'm a bit of primer & foundation junkie. at 1st i didn't think much of the hourglass veil primer but it's 1 of my faves now -- i smear it on, not pat, and it smooths very well. works amazingly w/my givenchy photo'perfexion fndn (applied with stippling or buffing brush) and probably the only primer i use now out of the 8 or so that i have. i've been shifting over to using peter thomas roth cc cream and kiehl's bb cream as primers b/c they both provide spf & coverage. when i use cc/bb cream as primer, i use my fingers to smear a lot of it on all over (as if i'm applying sunscreen), then dab on l'oreal crayon concealer over a few areas that need extra coverage, and then blend those out with just the tiniest amounts of givenchy fndn using a stippling brush.

I use to prefer the Benefit Porefessional but seem to reach for the Garnier 5 sec blur now daily. Lite weight, silky, minimizes pores, Wow, it's extremely good. Texture is velvety, you may like it best on chin. I'm combo, but more dry in winter. You may enjoy trying it if you haven't already. Sometimes a pea size isn't enough. Take care.

This was a great video.  I can really appreciate your efforts.
I use a combo of your least favorite and favorite.  I'm applying makeup at 6:30 each morning and it needs to last well past 6:00 p.m.  After I moisturize, I put the Pore-fessional on my t-zone only... there you will find my largest pores and oiliest skin.  I then let it set while I brush my teeth. Then I apply the Smashbox all over my face, even over the t-zone.  For foundation I use the Estee Lauder Double Wear mixed with a BB cream.  At 62 I can use all the help I can get but find this routine seems to work best for me.  Keep up the good work!  I'll keep watching.  :)

Angie your skin is beautiful with & without make up. I agree with you about the Laura Mercier primer.... I hated it. It added color and made my foundation streaky and slimy.

Hi Angie! I know this is an older video, but as you know I just found you recently! Anyway, I was talking to one of the gals at Sephora last week and she told me that the Porefessional is NOT a primer at all that it is just a pore filler. I thought that was interesting so I thought I would share! Great for your research! Melissa

Since I'm looking for a primer, this video was very helpful. The 20 somethings in the stores try to help, but they don't understand older skin (I'm 44). Just a suggestion when you are applying the It CC Cream...dot it on your skin like you do but then rub it in not pat. I use this as well and find that rubbing it in gives more even coverage. You can always pat at the very end. Thanks again!

I agree the Smash box primer is wonderful! ! I use the green one that oxidizes to skin tone and cancels out my too red skin. I have combination skin and 50 years old.

Tip from a makeup artist, after you moist your skin use translucent powder then use the C C cream.Tip from Wayne Goss.
