I believe it's actually, "we need to talk", which usually means she talks and I sit and get blamed for things I am completely unaware of.

I stoped asking my husband this when he started being honest “hon what are you thinking about?” “ the crud between my toes I want it out but I don’t want to deal with it can you get that for me?” I never asked again lol

One of my ex's use to ask me this every time there was 15 seconds or more of silence. I started giving answers like "Did you know there is 86 tiles on this ceiling?" while laying in bed staring at the ceiling or even crazier answers like "I bet dogs and cats get freaked out that we can take clothes off. They probably think we're removing our fur". She eventually gave up asking ;)

My girlfriend passed away about 3 years ago and she used to do stuff like that.
She was not able to work any more and she would ask questions like that and it drove me nuts. After she passed away I then realized she just wanted to be part of my day and life. I now miss that so much that it still hurts me. It's like getting your heart ripped out of you.
I miss her so much.

there's actually one sentence that is even worse. That statement that strikes fear in the heart of even the toughest of men. That is the dreaded "We need to talk" line, which actually translates to " I'm going to talk and you're going to listen while I nag."

Yup, that's my #1 most hated question.
I had a girlfriend repeatedly ask me the same question. I kept telling her "nothing."
But she would insist that I was thinking about something.
I worked 12hr shifts and was just exhausted. After almost 30 minutes of her constant bs I escorted her to my front door opened the door and told her to leave and never come back.
Then I went back inside and continued to think about nothing.

“How’s your day going” is the worst thing to ask, we don’t wanna answer that because if we say “bad” they’ll ask “why” and most guys don’t wanna talk about it or complain because we know it usually doesn’t help and we’re built to “take it”

I learned long ago to interpret that as her saying" I'd like to talk to you about literally anything" so I try to remember the last interesting thing I can think of even if it was from a week ago and say "I was just thinking about.."
