Are you Confident or Cocky? Today we look at this question. There are many arrogant people out there, but very few of them actually have real confidence. Confidence is one of the best traits you can have, and cockiness is one of the worst traits you can have.

There is a fine line between being cocky and being confident, and in this video we are going to discuss the major differences between these two traits. Confidence comes from a very authentic and whole place. Cockiness is not authentic and It’s based in insecurity. It’s more about making other people think that you’re confident, as opposed to actually being confident.” Which is why cocky people tend to talk a lot.

Confidence is not something that you just get over night, it’s something that you have to cultivate over time by pushing your self to go outside of your comfort zone. If the idea of approaching someone during the day is terrifying, then you should it. If the idea of asking someone on the street what time it is, then you should do it. You cannot think your way to confidence, you have to feel your way there. In the words of great American philosopher, Ralf Waldo Emerson: “Always do what you are afraid to do”

I think you're describing more of a narcissist than a cocky person. I was cocky, and it's true, it was a facade, I was really insecure. I've grown since then (1st year of college - now just finished college). I made an effort to not act overly confident to hide the fact that im nervous, or anxious, or had a shit life. I can now say 2 years down the line I'm a lot cooler, I can accept my mistakes a lot better and I'm way more of a critical thinker, I was a critical thinker then but I lacked action, which is why I felt the need to act cocky. However, my cockiness was generally in good fun and was obviously humour and intended to make people laugh in the right setting (generally it did). I did get a high from my persona (making people laugh), I also started believing that I was a god and I was unstoppable, of course this was a defence mechanism as I was insecure surprisingly about a lot of things.

I use to think i was wrong for being confident, but the only reason was because i was surrounded by so many negative hating ass people that when i wouldnt be insecure anymore it would have them looking at me weird, felt like i was doing too much. But the only difference was that i wasn’t insecure anymore ... lmaoo isnt that crazy? How you being happy makes people uncomfortable & mad. I never shared this with anyone...when i was little i got bullied relentlessly. I got rejected by maybe ove 100 different girls throughout school, and I absolutely hated everything about myself when I looked at myself in the mirror. When I got to 12th grade, things shifted for me, my looks really started to develop and women who once rejected me started falling at my feet. I guess between that moment from high school and till now I became this very cocky, stuck on my looks kinf of person. Deep down inside it was like a person hitting the loto so i didnt know how to act, but then i realized even though i had no issue getting women at that point, I always had a issue keeping them because of the egotistical cocky asshole I had my point is balance! Your physical attributes are not the only thing that will keep people around, trust me I learned the hard way
