The death toll from a Buffalo-area blizzard rose to 27 in western New York, authorities said Monday, as the region reeled from one of the worst weather-related disasters in its history. Much of the rest of the United States was hit by ferocious winter conditions.

Those who lost their lives around Buffalo were found in cars, homes and snowbanks. Some died while shoveling snow, others when emergency crews could not respond in time to medical crises.

President Joe Biden said his prayers were with the victims' families, and offered federal assistance Monday to the hard-hit state.

Today I saw a 25 yr old episode of ‘West Wing’ where a homeless Vet died in the days before Xmas. 25 yrs ago this was made an issue, yet it is still an issue 25 yrs later. WTF is wrong with our government. We can build weapons that kill, so why can’t we build homes that save.

This is emanating from the same people that have been pontificating about how we weren't even going to have winters, let alone snow, as of a decade ago.

This story makes no sense? You said there was 12, 27 & 48 deaths doesn’t seem right and definitely fishy
