Angelina Jolie has this impeccable Alpha mentality but still manages to be both feminine and graceful. Very few if any actresses can achieve this without coming across as patronizing and arrogant, which is why Angelina is one of my favorite actresses today.

Something I've said for years - don't ask, invite. Don't make them think you are pleading for their company, or making a special effort to appease them. Let them know you already intend to do something interesting and they are welcome to join you if they wish. It lets them know you live an exciting life that they could be a part of. Then actually do it, even if they don't join you. If you see them again, you will have an interesting story to tell to let them know what they missed.

I adore this movie - pure unadulterated glamour and escapism. I’m not surprised it didn’t do well at the box office, as its theme is too old-fashioned for a modern audience IMO. But the two leads look gorgeous, there’s a good supporting cast, and it’s wonderfully romantic. Although I still don’t understand why she was asking him to invite her to dinner at 8.30 in the morning ..,
