This was a live interview. His 1980 presidential campaign stressed some of his fundamental principles: lower taxes to stimulate the economy,less government interference in people's lives, states' rights, and a strong national defense. Reagan was an American politician and actor who served as the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Before his presidency, he was the 33rd Governor of California, from 1967 to 1975, after a career as a Hollywood actor and union leader.
