NYC is Building Anti-Migrant Streets…

Hostile architecture is popping up around asylum shelters in NYC, and it looks like these could be in response to the city’s growing humanitarian crisis. Some businesses may have a legitimate safety concern, but when the city itself is looks like it’s installing hostile architecture something seems fishy…

I would love to know what the homeless population in New York feel about all these immigrants, getting housing etc before them

I'm an American, and when I visited Japan, their people would get priority over foreigners, and rightfully so. Americans should take notes on taking care of our people first.

NYC is doing everything BUT stopping accepting illegals for free and giving them debit cards 😂😂

I mean 5-10 years ago people would complain about these things being anti-homeless, but I have no more sympathy. When I have to struggle to make ends meet and live paycheck to paycheck why should these people coming in illegally get a free ride on our already burdened system?

AMERICAN homeless have dealt with this for years. I didn't see anybody crying for them.

Pots are too tall for people to use them for a toilet!

Glad NYC is spending even more money on things that aren't fixing the root of the problem

Wouldn't that become a lawsuit if an elderly or some accident happened where someone was injured though? So wouldn't that cause more problems than they're trying to solve?

They could change the law for right to shelter…. They could stop promoting non-compliance with our immigration laws. I believe that taxpayer funding issued by the Federal Government should be tied to compliance with immigration law enforcement. These funds impact everything from school to highways.

No bro youre wrong. Those are homless deterants not migrant deternts. American citizens who are homeless, while the migrants are given hotel rooms, the homeless american is left to freeze

I call it HOSTILE MIGRATION instead.... these people hang out inside of Tompkins Square park with scooters by the hundreds and ruin the park for everyone else.

They don't have to worry about the cold like our homeless vets. Their wearing $300 parkas.

My uncle was kicked out of his veterans assisted living so migrants could be hosted there. He served in Vietnam and has PTSD and Parkinsons. It's absolutely insane what New York is doing to make homelessness and mental health worse. It seems like they WANT the city to collapse.

I dont blame the businesses. As a consumer I am not going to go into a business with a crowd of homeless lurking around it.

Having lived the vast majority of 60 years outside of a large city it's difficult to understand why anyone wants to live in one. There's no space, a high population concentration, no horizon, no view of mother nature, undending noise and traffic congestion, etc. Why stay in a city?

I recently came to Times Square and stayed at the Dream Hotel, a tiny 10x10 room cost me $500 per night.
I didn't get anything for free.
Maybe these illegal immigrants should have seeked asylum in one of the 10 other countries they went through before sneaking through Mexico and Texas.
You should be happy and thrilled NYC is preventing the streets from turning into San Fransisco.

If the businesses have to clear snow from sidewalk and are responsible for it, then they should have the right to keep people from loitering in that same space.

In a place where $100, 000 a year is barely making it, what level of idiot would think bringing people that can't afford to feed themselves in mass there is going to be good!
Sidewalks are not camp sites!

Why doesn’t New York City try to rescind its sanctuary status ? That seems like a logical solution…
